Trying to help local business but didn't get the service expected. Keys were made but tech guy left without getting the car started on battery issue. Expecting a call from field supervisor that never came. The bill was $350 for 2 keys with no remote.

What a wonderful experience. I needed to change my mother's locks while visiting her. chauncey quickly responded to my quote request with a competitive quote. His co-worker Dean arrived to change my locks. He was friendly, courteous, flexible and did a fabulous job. I couldn't be happier. The best part is that they donate $10 of every job to an animal shelter AND they recycled my old locks. It doesn't get better than that if you love animals and care about the environment. In a nutshell, you get excellent service at a competitive price while using a company that is making our world better and taking care of the environment.

Horrible, horrible experience!! If I could give them NO Stars, I would, but that is not an option. Please, whatever you do, DO NOT use this locksmith company. First of all, they are not an actual company, but instead are a service company that dispatches locksmiths that they work with in the area, and does not guarantee that you are going to get a professional person to your home. I called and talked to a dispatcher, and she proceeded to send someone over to my home after having told me their prices (service call - $29, labor and parts to be determined at time of service.) I agreed to have someone come and take a look and provide me a quote. I have French Doors that apparently has a very 'difficult' lock to work with, so the technician quoted me $169 'just to open the door,' plus another charge for whatever parts he would need. I approved it as I needed the door opened. He proceeded to then tell me that it would cost me $69 for 'parts that are broken,' but when I asked him to show me the parts that he changed, he said that it was a 'spring' and that the other parts were not broken. I was doubtful in the beginning when he walked into my home, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to approve the work. When he was finished, he said that it was fixed. I made sure to open and lock the door several times prior to his departure and also to make sure that the problem had been indeed fixed, but the latch and the door knob did not feel right to me, it felt loose and it was not locking properly. After I told the technician this (his name is Alan by the way...not sure if that was his real name because when I asked him, he refused to give it to me and instead told me to 'call the office and ask them,') he became combative and said that if 'I didn't like it, he could remove the one new spring he had added (for $69) and that he wanted to be paid for his labor and the service call. When I tried to tell him to just lock the door and feel the 'looseness' of the handle and lock, he became irate and started yelling at me (in MY OWN HOME!!,) and started taking video and picture of his shoddy work just to prove a point back to his office or boss. I paid him quickly in cash just so he could leave my home, and when I gave him the money, he was yelling and berating me all the way to the front door. At the front door, he came towards me as if he wanted to hit me, and so at that point, I yelled at him to leave my house, and if he didn't, I was going to let my dogs loose. He left but as he did so, he just kept yelling all the way down the driveway. I am now not feeling safe having had this crazy person in my house, and when I complained to their office, I spoke to Priscilla and she said that there was nothing she could do, and apologized, but said that 'they had worked with this locksmith in the past and had never had any problems with him!' As if that was going to make me feel safe. It did not. I plan to file a complaint with the local police if possible and felt it my duty to write this review. I say beware of using this company EVER! In fact, I say go with someone else.

I just wanted to thank Low Rate Locksmith Elk Grove because I lost my car and house keys while shopping. How careless I was. Well to my amaze, these guys were so friendly and so great! They came out so quickly, made me a new car key there and then and followed me home to help me get into the house with the spare key. I cant be enough thankful to you guys. Thank you!

This was such a good experience. My backpack was stolen this weekend with my keys and a piece of mail with my address inside. I was obviously nervous about someone out there having my keys and address, so I decided to get the locks changed. I'm a grad student and I was concerned about getting ripped off, especially after reading other reviews on google saying they were charged $300+. Luckily, I didn't have to worry about a thing with dorsey. I sent him pictures of the lock and he quoted me $99 plus tax. He did the job in five minutes, and accepted Venmo which was great because my wallet was also inside the stolen bag. He was even great with my playful dog! This was a huge relief and such an easy process. Recommend dorsey and will use him for any future issues I have.

For some reason (which was later explained to us), both my husband and my keys suddenly would not work when inserted into our apartment door. Despite a good amount of fidgeting and after the destruction of his MetroCard (tried to break in ourselves), we called Locksmith and I spoke with the owner, erin, who was very nice and let me know that his teammate was in the neighborhood finishing up another job. He arrived 15 minutes later and while I finished up a nice dinner a couple blocks away at Cork Buzz, he managed to open the door, and find a small piece of plastic which was stuck inside our lock. He said that it wasn't entirely uncommon for peoples' keys get junk attached to them and then block some of the pins inside the lock. My husband enjoyed his stories and knowledgeable nature and he re-joined me at dinner 15 minutes later. Price-wise, it's a bit opaque (my own fault for not asking for a quote over the phone), but we were charged $140 because it was after 6pm, but apparently it's usually around $90. Not a terrible price considering we would have had to break down the door and replace it otherwise. I would definitely recommend them and use them again when in a jam!

Another 5-star review for these guys... locked us out of a friend's apartment in Chelsea that we were staying at. Luckily with Google on my smartphone I was able to see what consistently good service these guys provide and gave them a call. keenan came along within an hour (only reason it took a while was due to the bad weather), and had us inside within 5 mins. The locks on the door seemed quite stubborn but keenan seemed quite the expert! Only sorry that I didn't have more cash on hand to give him a better tip. Polite, responsive, and professional. Thanks guys!
