We arrived at 4:30 PM and requested a key and FOB. Jim knew it would take over an hour to complete the transaction. The store closes at 5:00 PM, but Jim stayed with us to provide us a great service. He finished programming them after 6:00 PM The key and FOB works great. We were fortunate to find this excellent company and highly recommend them. Thank you Jim.

I want to start out this review by telling you a little about me, so that the context makes more sense. I grew up in Southern California - Dana Point - and during my youth we had things like auto shop, wood shop, metal shop and other shop activities in school that encouraged sweat equity as a learning experience. Although were I grew up was rather affluent, having Scottish in my genes meant that we saved money. So I learned quite a bit about how mechanics worked, how things functioned around the house, and how to un-screwup something I'd previously ... screwed.So changing a lock isn't a big deal. Neither is rekeying one.Rekeying six well-worn 10-year old commercial locks so that they work with a new key while continuing to work with a master key seemed a bit above my pay grade. I could certainly take them out ... but the whole rekeying thing made me feel a bit uncomfortable.I've taken locks to locksmith shops before. I've met the edgy fellows with metal burr etched dirty hands that smell of old tri-flow oil and teflon ... and even older sweat. You know; the guys who give you a price based on the clothes you're wearing measured against the desperation you exude because you don't know anything about the dark arts and magic of locksmithery. So I was prepared for what to expect when I went to head over to this shop that opened unusually early for a trade (8:30am).This store is COMPLETELY the opposite of any other locksmith that I've ever been to. The store was neat, tidy, well laid out with products, swept floors, and an unexpectedly professional attitude and veneer.Jim Thorpe was the gentleman who helped me out. I have NEVER met someone who knows as much about locks and who is willing to share his knowledge so that I felt comfortable and reassured that the job would be done right.I gave him the six locks (in individual baggies numbers so I remembered where I got them from). He checked them all out in front of me, jumped on his computer after I gave him the address where the locks were from and said they'd been to that address before, and even cut a new master key from their records to make sure that it worked as well as the older master I included with the old locks. The new one worked WAY better. He gave be a quote - in writing - as well as a time that the locks would be done by THAT DAY! I gave him the locks and went off to attend to the rest of my adventures for that morning.A short while later - and well before the promised time - Jim gave me a call, and said that the locks were done and I could head over to pick them all up. I was shocked!When I got back to the busy store, Jim had my order ready, remembered me, and then launched into an explanation of what he'd done. He explained about the locks (they were worn, and could do with a full servicing at some point), the new keys, and the new master he cut. He even managed to get the locks back in the original baggies instead of mixing them all up. THAT is attention to detail!I got back to the building, installed the new locks, and they work perfectly! The new master works on the various locks in the building, and I am absolutely THRILLED with the whole process.I HIGHLY recommend A-Abbot Locksmith for all your key needs. These guys are professional, quick, and they get the job done right the first time. If you get a chance, talk with Jim; he is not only knowledgeable, but he is willing to share that knowledge so that you know exactly what you're getting!

These guys know what they're doing. While I sat there today waiting for a duplicate key to be made, I watched many other people come in with various problems to be solved. The staff at Abbott Locksmith are good at troubleshooting. If there's a way to get your key or safe issue resolved, they'll think of it. The shop itself is kind of hard to see as its entrance is sort of just stuck onto the end of a small, low building complex. It's tempting to turn into the Michael's/Petco parking lot aside of the locksmith (as this looks like the logical entrance) but really you should pass that entire parking lot and take the next small right hand and (unmarked) entrance and your parking space area will be immediately to your right.

Called and asked how much it would cost for a NEW KEY for my car, as I had lost all keys and obviously cannot use the car. I specifically asked for the price of a new key and not a copy, as I had been calling around asking to get the most affordable price. I drove from Rancho Santa Margarita to this location and they told me that I was wrongly informed about the price of a new key. Communication was terrible as the person I spoke to lied about the pricing, I assume to get me to drive in and pay the extra amount. If I had have been told the correct price I wouldnt have driven there because I had a cheaper location less than 5 miles away. Thanks for wasting my time guys!

The key to my 10+ years old Camry didn't work for the trunk or glove box any more, and a duplicate key made by Home Depot didn't either. Jim at A-Abbot, however, figured out a way to find the keycode and made workable keys accordingly to solve my problems. Jim also cleaned all car locks for me and made sure the new keys work for the glove box and trunk, as well as the door and ignition. The life-saving tasks Jim did for me was truely impressive and delightful!

Amazing. I had a locked cabinet with skeleton-key type lock, key lost. They warned me that they would test every similar key they had but it might not work and I would still have to pay. He tried dozens. Finally, was able to fabricate a key from an existing key and made it work, opened the cabinet, modified the lock slightly to make the new key go in easier. I was impressed.

Had them out to re-key the home, they were unable to do so do to no key available to any door from prior renters. They suggested I buy just one new lock and then bring in all the locks to get re-keyed to the new lock saving me a ton for a second call. (I am a little handy at some things) While there on the original call they helped me with a locked door with no key at no charge. Good guys, great attitude and great service. I have now done as suggested and all doors are secure and available to us.

Don't bother to call this guy is you are locked out at 1:30 am. I did, and he wouldn't help me. I'm literally less than 8 miles away. Why do locksmiths say they are 24/7 emergency locksmiths if they won't actually take 24/7 calls?
