Drove an hour and a half into Joshua Tree to help us get our keys locked in the trunk of a car that is too technologically advanced for its own good. Friendly guy, brought his son and they got us out of there in 15 minutes, after we had been stressing over it for over 24 hours (had to leave the car in the park overnight). He was clearly very knowledgable and knew exaclty what he was doing.

I have done business with Brian countless times over the last 10+ years. When I was in the property management business he was always so quick to respond his work is always clean and professionally done .I have also used him for my own personal vehicles a few times cause my children have locked us out of the car. The most recent was last year at Christmas time one of our children locked the car while it was running and we were getting ready to leave for a Christmas performance. Brian rushed over within a 10 minutes unlocked the car and we were still able to make a Christmas performance. I highly recommend Brians locksmith

I'm sure these guys do great work when locksmith work is needed. However I went there with some car ignition related issues, I expressed my skepticism about whether recoding the keys was the actual solution to the issue or not, but thought I would see what they had to say. As a young lady with an obviously limited car knowledge, I feel they persuaded me into paying for a service ($300) that I didn't need at all (which they knew), and that's not a nice feeling. My code light was temporarily reset and they assured me the issue was fixed, but that's not the case. If you are certain you are simply in need of key related service then I'm sure they're what you want, but with any car issues have your car properly diagnosed by a mechanic before taking another business' advice on it, that's a lesson I learned. On the other hand they were fast, and did do 'what they said they would do'.

Called to check how much they wanted to install a deadbolt lock to an existing security screen with my deadbolt lock, $65.00!! 'Cuz me?? $65 NOT TO BUY A GOLD PLATED DEADBOLT BUT TO INSTALL ONE I ALREADY BOUGHT! I'm in the wrong business I think I'll advertise putting them in doors with existing holes, for $50!! I ended up putting it in myself and it worked!! $65.00!! Shame on you Brian lock shop! Talk about ripping people off! It took me less than 5 minutes to put it in with a manual Philips screwdriver!

There were legal complications the day before the scheduled lock-out. I had to cancel. The next morning I learned from the Sheriff that they wanted to go through with the eviction. Called Brian and he was able to get there in about a half of an hour.Job was done without me even being there, payment was squared away... Highly recommend to someone who is in need of any type of lock-out situation.Thank you, Brian.

I am the property manager for JT Village Realty in Joshua Tree and frequently need a variety of keys copied. Unlike key copies from other local establishments, the keys from Brian's Lock Shop always work. No matter which person is manning the store, they have an in-depth knowledge of their trade. I had the experience of one gentleman explaining that many cheap locks are made in China and the keys cannot be copied in the US. Valuable information. I highly recommend this business for their integrity and professionalism.

i sent this text word for word to this customer after reading his review, i strive to try and make everyone happy with the service they receive and we pride ourselves on promptness .the text read as follows. hi david this is brian the locksmith, in your reveiw you called me disrespectful. I've been a businessman and member of this community for over 15 years and I can tell you that you can't make it in a small town if you have bad business practices. the truth of the matter is that I dropped everything I was doing to come help you and we agreed to a 20 to 30 minute eta. i was there promptly as I always am and you were not so who was being disrespectful? its hard enough to make a living as it is without dealing with wasted trips. I'm sorry you felt the need to write such a review as i only had the best intentions but everyone has a limit and after what was already a 10 hour day in the heat I guess I hit mine.i apologize for whatever i may have said on the phone but I guess it was the last straw of a trying day. very few people have any idea what it's like to be at the beckoned call of the public 24 hrs a day when everything is an emergency to that particular person. i do my best and that's all I can do i just wanted to give you an explanation of my side of the story. i know i can't make everybody happy all of the time but i honestly try very hard to please my customers and im sorry that our experience turned out this way .
