After I purchased an older vehicle with considerable mileage on it I had Chance make me a couple of new keys for it. I went to their business after speaking with Chance by phone. They maintained social distancing and wore masks because of Covid 19 virus and the keys work just as expected. Chance was able to use a Clonable Transponder key and cut and program it by extracting the info needed from the keys I had. He also cut me a key that I will use as a stash key just in case I lock myself out of my vehicle which I have done before. These men are very professional, informative, courteous, and prompt. I have done business with them in the past and will continue to do so as needed and recommend them highly when you need a locksmith.

The guy I talked to on the phone was super friendly. Wven though they couldn't program the key I needed for a jaguar, they can do almost any other key I was told. And their prices are pretty good too.

This is the second time that we have used American Locksmithing in Montrose, Colorado.They are true professionals. The first time was a home visit to rekey and repair external locks. What a wonderful feeling of safety and security to have the locks updated and rekeyed. The personnel are fast and thorough. And, gosh, pleasant. What a concept.The second time was a visit to their shop in town to have remotes cut and programmed for our Jeep Wrangler. The labradors must eat them, I dont know! Anyway it was done quickly and efficiently. Best news, the cost was reasonable and honest!

Apparently,this company does NOT work on weekends. This included Friday at 4:40pm. I was told that even though I'd lost my keys(Im from Washington) that they don't work weekends and I'd have to wait until then. Mind you, I'm sitting outside a Shell station waiting for help. Thank God the attendant found my keys and I was able to leave. Don't expect above and beyond and for sure not on the weekend.

We were traveling with our RV and the key broke off in the lock. I called American who gave us directions to their facility late on Friday. They were able to get the broken key out and back on the road in 30 minutes. The charge was very reasonable at $35. Gave them 5 stars for a great job without gouging travelers--but also being so nice & friendly.

They don't carry current codes to cut 2016 keys. I was told my vehicle was to new (2016) to cut a key fob. Really???
