Gonzalo came out to us in July 4, 2020. I locked the keys in my car. We called around 10pm and he arrived around midnight. We were in a secluded area in Mount Carrol IL. I had absolutely no reception and he managed to find us and help us. He was respectful and very professional. Definitely recommend.

Professional and Fair! The owner, Gonzalo, is one of the hardest working people I know. The lead mechanic, Keith, takes the time to explain needed repairs and/or parts. Excellent service for towing and repairs. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Locked my keys in my truck while staying at a hotel in the area. Terrible situation. Tried to unlock it myself by hitting the auto unlock button with a coat hanger.. that apparently doesn't work with my year/model of truck. Called Gonzalo's, they had a guy there in half hour or so. He was able to reach my locked in keys and pull them out through the window. Thank you to the skilled employee that saved the day for me!

Gonzalo is fast, courteous, trustworthy and excellent at what he does. I highly recommend him. Not only did he do an an amazing job of pulling my car out of an icy, muddy ditch, in the dark but he arrived less than 15 minutes after he was called by AAA! When he arrived I was still in shock and very scared. He was so polite and calming, telling me it was OK, I felt better. He told me not to worry, told me what I had to do and what he was going to do. He calmly assured me that I could. I held the steering wheel as he instructed, and he got us out of the ditch while making sure that he protected my car from damage. He is a very fine Italian Gentleman and I highly recommend him.

I have read all reviews and I am beyond mad. This is the second time using this 'company' via AAA. First time the driver had ME drive my vehicle up on tow truck after I argued that was his job! He also stated I could drive the vehicle the 4 miles although, MY back break completely came apart, locked up tire and I had break fluid all over. This was all witnessed by a guy who worked for the City Counsel.. Now, I have a vehicle that would not start. I called AAA and said anyone but, Gonzalos towing! Well, guess who called and showed up to my home. I told the driver whom came to my home of this issue an he said Owner no longer there, went back to Mexico and cost the business a lot of Customers.. I told them to bring a bigger truck as I knew for fact it was not the battery as I checked it. They brought a smaller truck, tested battery and stated they would have to go get a bigger truck. So, here I was waiting for another truck. The young kid I won't say his name came back to tow my truck. I happened to be taking pictures outside and took pictures of my truck on the flat bed.I could not understand or my Husband why it took over 15 minutes in our driveway to hook up truck. This is when I took pictures...... After my truck was repaired I went to pick it up. In a hurry as I had a ride there I jumped in truck and left. Once home I realized I had SEVEN LONG LINES all down the drivers side of my truck! I then realized the small cap on my front drivers tire was missing along with wheel well cover pins out, some missing and it was cracked!!! I called the repair shop and in which I entrust in and he said not by them and known issues with this company. I called AAA and filed a claim right away. I then called Gonazalos and asked for a Manager. Well, the same kid who picked up my truck that he was the Manager. I told him all the issues and he denied. Well, pictures on a tow bed in my drive way do not lie! I then asked for Owner to call me. Well, it has been a week and no call back! I suppose I will have to not only follow up with AAA claim I will have to involve an Attorney. I am beyond enraged at this so called company. I have written a certified letter to AAA Corporate office as well and attached all complaint's off this site to them. Especially the one's where Customers stated they used AAA and damage or poor service when vehicle was towed. My truck has damage to it to begin with and a scheduled appointment to have all fixed was set up. Now, I await to have that all done as Claims Adjuster will need to come out and look at my vehicle and see all NEW PRETTY WHITE LINES ( straps or scraped a tree all down drivers side) all down my truck, on my tail light and more. Do not use this company at any cost as they are very unprofessional and do not take responsibility for their mistakes. For some reason I can only upload one photo. All others during tow in driveway and damage were sent to AAA showing none was there day of tow.

I cant say enough about them. Professional, knowledgeable, straightforward, honest and reasonably priced. They got the brakes on my truck straightened out and rebuilt the front suspension after having lots of issues at other higher priced shops. 2002 Silverado drives like a new truck. Will definitely be back with my other vehicle repair needs.

Our car broke down on our way back home and Gonzalos auto service was the first ones we called. And were so glad we did!! Keith and Gonzalo came so fast and they were really friendly people! they made us feel at home and they had free coffee! And candy! we were amazed at their hospitality. Gonzalos is the best shop in town. On a 500 mile journey I had a breakdown. It was the night before Christmas Eve. Gonzalo picked me up, towed my truck, and fixed my truck all in one night. I locked myself out of my car in Dixon on a cold & windy Sunday evening this January. After a call to AAA, Gonzalo Sr. called to let me know he'd be there in half an hour. Half an hour later, he was there. Less than half an hour after that, I was back in my vehicle. So a huge thank you to 'Pops!' :-) He was patient, professional, and pleasant. No one wants to have to call for help with a tow or a lock-out, but if I should need such services again, I'll be calling Gonzalo's!

Our car broke down 2 hours from home. Luckily we were near Gonzalo's. Did not know who they were until this week. The tow truck driver was personable and professional, and we felt safe with him there while we were on the side of the busy highway - very good guy. The shop was very honest. They went above and beyond in researching what was wrong with our car. When it turned out the repair may be more than our car was worth, they let us keep our car at the shop until we found a way to pick it up and bring it home. Thank you for all your help. Our transmission went out in one of our Van's. We called another company and they told us they couldn't come until the next day. We needed to get our van and employee back to Rockford. So we call Gonzalez towing they said they could do it and told us it was an hour wait. But the driver called 20 minutes later and said he was on his way. He did a great job of making sure it was tied down properly . I will recommend them to anyone in the area.

I had a work truck coming back from delivering furniture to a customer when it broke down outside of Gonzalo's shop (B&H Office Furniture out of Rockford, IL). Luckily, we were pointed in the direction of Gonzalo - by some employees at a nearby AutoZone. It appeared that Gonzalo had a shop full of vehicles waiting to be serviced, but wasted no time in finding a solution to get our truck into his shop and serviced the same-day. These guys are absolutely wonderful and my husband and I are very grateful to the owner, his wife and the company overall. We were stranded on I55 north with both our phones dead, when they saw us and decided to help. Not only did they stay with us so we can contact our roadside assistance through insurance, they also towed us home safely. Even though our insurance company wanted to make us wait for hours even after waiting on hold already for two hours, they were still kind enough to tow us home because they refused to leave us out there like roadside assistance would have done. We appreciate them so much and highly recommend them to anyone .Thank you guys so much for everything.

Very disappointed with this company. He was my provider twice via AAA and he almost got my vehicle ruined by dropping it in the middle of the street (and not driveway) where he got a strap stuck under my tire and demanded I pull the vehicle off it with my other. It was almost hit several times and then damaged because he left and I had to figure out a way to get it in the drive way while traffic was blocked. Very incompetent, please do not call them, even if you are desperate. I reported him to AAA and I hope they will not use his services again.

I cannot say enough about Gonzalo's Towing, especially Trey and Nathan. They towed us home all the way to the Southside of Chicago after a deer ran into us late one night on I-88. We were pretty shaken up, but they immediately put us at ease, and both were extremely kind, funny, and professional. They really made what could have been a very negative experience so much better, and got us home safe, sound, and happy!
