I have enough friends to know to stay away from your store... They all have similar stories. Word is spreading fast about your customer service and lies about the mowers you sell. How are you still in business? I have been to your store before, but I can't say I remember buying anything memorable, I will go somewhere else. My hard working friend's use that equipment to make money, not to fall into your scam, Which ends up costing them.

I dont feel Ive ever walked into this True Value and felt valued as a customer.Rarely a hello and never a friendly thank you or even any real convo. Im going to go in now to buy a chainsaw sharpener, will edit this pending that experience :). Its been months since Ive been in. I enjoy the store and its location, this review is solely on customer service.

Update to the issue I had. After speaking to Jeff and Greg Dannemiller they came up with a solution that worked very well for both them and myself. I took mower in today, they got it in immediately and by the end of the day they found the problem, and came up with what was a very reasonable outcome. So, we all have off days and I was upset due to inconvenience of no mower during high growth time and scared I was going to be left without, also that I have shopped at their stores both old location and Southport for some years that my mood was raw. So, I will say I highly recommend them for all of your needs for purchases, parts, service, and I will continue to shop and use them in the future and already have a bigger purchase planned!Thanks again Jeff & Greg!

Horrible customer service. Attitude problem and try to make you feel stupid rather than being helpful at all.Wanted to support a small business where I thought Id get more personal help, but I guess Ill stick to Home Depot. Older guy working behind the service desk is not someone you want representing you for customer service. How about you hire helpful people ... Youve lost my business.(Younger guys seem nice but wasnt served by them)Edit: response to reply:I dont expect you to get it because people who have bad service typically dont. But if you do sincerely want to improve, it is not about what you do it is how you do it. Its in the genuine conveyance of caring for people rather than the an attitude of being bothered. Read some of the other recent reviews and you can see its not a lone incidence.

Ive been to many outdoor shop and Greg and his staff are rates at the top of my list for best outdoor shops Ive been too. I recommend them to all my friends and family. Dannemiller True Value has always been a pain. Always get the run-around. Also, the store never has what you need. They're nice people when telling you about the new 12,000 mowers, but seem to have a bit of an attitude problem when it comes to doing something for you.

Girl behind the counter has a terrible attitude every time I go in. Even just to drop off items to be worked on in the shop. Seems to be an inconvenience for her to work to write up the ticket. No reason to have poor customer service with how slow this store is.

Great hardware, well stocked with repair & Replacement items for home, electric, plumbing, garden and yard. We took our riding zero turn mower in for repairs and purchased a new Simplicity zero turn. They were so knowledgeable about their vast assortment of yard equipment. They asked about our lawn needs and suggested a mower that fit the bill with no pressure, two days later we purchased it.

I have had 3 experiences with this store. 1st was with my old mower and doing an 'on call' appointment where they would call to service the mower because they were so many weeks out. But I never got a call. 2nd time I purchased a mower and it was a good experience with a fair price. 3rd meeting was when I wanted the mower I purchased fix after owning for 2 years and it was going to be 3 to 4 weeks out. In fairness, they must be busy but when you are willing to buy new from a place you'd hope for some better service options.

Zero stars on this place, but google wont let me do that. I had thought they were a true hardware store but all they know is how to look up a part on the computer and order it or commodity blister packs on the shelves. No hardware knowledge at all. Better off going to amazon or a big box store instead of these jokers. Waste of time.

I brought my mower in last Saturday because the gas cap wouldn't stay on while mowing. After Greg Dannemiller (the owner) repeatedly left assisting me to answer the phone & talk to other customers (who were being helped my other associates) he finally told me he would have to order a gas cap. I then inquired about possible warranty as the mower was only 4 months old and I found it strange that the gas cap apparatus was already not working properly. I basically had to beg Greg to look at my receipt and to input the information. I then said 'so what is this going to cost me to fix?' to which he responded '$11'. That seemed more than fair to me so I said 'okay, great!' He then said 'okay, let me tag the mower and I'll call you on Wednesday/Thursday when it's done.' Fast forward to next SATURDAY (7 days later) and I still had not heard from anyone. I had to call and was placed on hold for 10 minutes to be told 'oh yes, we're finishing that and doing the final checks.' I thought that was weird as it was a simple gas cap that had to be ordered.I then get into the store today (August 21) to pick it up. The sales associate tells me it will be $20.50 total. I inquired, 'how could that be?' I was told that there was .1 hours of labor which amounted to $8. EIGHT DOLLARS TO SCREW A GAS CAP ON!I asked to speak with Greg. I asked 'do you think that is fair that I am being charged $8 for someone to screw a gas cap on when you told me it would be $11 total?' He quickly dismissed my claims and proceeded to give me a lecture on 'the cost of operating a store, keeping the lights on, etc.' It appears to me that he charged me labor solely for the purpose of funding his small business, not because it was actually necessary. I responded 'okay, if that is what it is - I will not be returning here for anything else.' Please keep in mind that over the years my family has spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars at his store and due to his poor communication/poor service/ego he is prepared to lose all future business.I have no doubt that Greg is a knowledgeable store owner, but I implore you to read my reviews and the other numerous NEGATIVE reviews before you give the store your business.

The people hear go above and beyond to try to find what your looking for. I called looking for a child's snow shovel in August. They had one. I had been to walmart , target, and meijer no one had one. But Dannemillers did and they carry my lestoil.

Crooked store and owner!! STAY AWAY, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!! Hired to do tuneup and price was twice that as originally advertised and mower deck came back damaged and nothing was cleaned. Mower is making banging sound because new blades are rubbing on deck. Greg Dannemiller, the owner, is saying I caused deck damage. That's BS! He either mid-sized the blades or dented my deck. He is now saying I owe for a repair his people caused. Stay away from this guy and the store in Bargersville!

Avoid doing business here!! The owner of Dannemiller is incredibly deceptive. In December of 2017, we hired Dannemiller to do a winterization of our lawn mower, based on a flyer we received in the mail. The winterization was advertised as $159. Rather than the advertised $159, they gave us an invoice for $302. We questioned the additional fees and the owner told us they replaced parts not included in the winterization. We never gave them authorization to do any work other than the winterization. We did not run the mower after the winterization since it was done in December. Now, April 2018, we turned on our mower to mow our lawn. It made a terrible sound, which we concluded were the mower blades hitting the mower deck. We called the owner of Dannemiller and told him of the problem. He told us he would come get the mower, take it back to his shop, and see what the issue was. A couple days later, he called and told us the mower was ready to be returned and we owed him $102. We refused to pay, but he would not return our mower without us paying. Again, we never gave him authorization to do any work. In taking/delivering the mower in December, he or his employees put a dent in the mower deck, which the blades were hitting. He caused the damage plus we never gave authorization for any work to be done on the mower to fix it. Dannemiller is engaging in deceptive business practices, which based on reviews, they have done to numerous consumers.

Told me a mower tune-up was $179 and included Oil & Air filters, oil and sharpened blades. By the time they were done, my bill had jumped to over $325. They replaced the blades, put a tube in a tubeless tire and charged me for the filters and oil. They never called me to get authorization for the new blades or tire repair, they just did it. They also never told me that the $179 did not include the filters or oil. Both the Svc Mgr and Store Mgr led me to believe that this is all standard practice and that their staff is trained to communicate that the $179 does not include the oil or filters. If I had been told that, I would not have used their service. I was told by several people that their experiences with this group were mostly negative but I gave them a try because they are local. I learned my lesson and will never use this company again.

I will drive a long way for good customer service regardless of the price and I will not drive here anymore. I think they train their employees not to make eye contact or smile.I really didn't expect that especially from the young generation.I always feel like cap when I leave there because they make you feel stupid and you don't kow anything.I promise you I wI'll never step foot in that place again and I will drive to Cincinnati if I have to.Good luck for your future.Bye

Awful. The staff is rude. They lied to me about when the service would be complete. I called to get an update, the staff laughed at me, put me on hold for 45 minutes and then hung up. I will never go there again. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Went to take my Toro mower for warranty work. The counter attendant stated it would be $35, plus 3 weeks before I got it back. Just bought the mower a year ago in May from Dannemiller. 4th time I've had it back. I asked for a supervisor, he said he was the supervisor, then I asked for his name. He initially refused to provide his name, then said name was Steve. On the way out I saw one of the owners. I told him how I was treated by 'Steve'. No one there with that name I was told. We walked back into the store and I pointed to the employee. Name is actually Chuck. While the owner made excuses for him, he did confirm that no deposit is required for warranty work and the mower was placed in a priority queue (due to agreement with Toro). Meanwhile, 'Lying Steve' threw his hands up in the air when he saw me and left the counter. Neither the owner (Greg), nor Steve (chuck) apologized for the rude behavior or for lying. Must be a relative!!

I went to get a key made. The three stooges at the counter didn't know how to do it and said I'd have to wait for Captain Dumbass to get off the phone. After 20 minutes, I left. I'll never return to this overpriced placed that offers subpar customer service.
