My family business and myself personally have been buying from this store for years. All the way from full house lumber, windows and door packages to house hold cleaner. The employees are always knowledgeable and over extend themselves to ask if they can help. This is a reputable family business and I STRONGLY recommend shopping here. (Also a historic Elkton landmark ;)

This business has been around since I can remember. I remember going with my dad as a little girl. They are a small business that make it very convenient for locals to get the supplies they need at a reasonable cost. Especially during these very challenging times, I appreciate the fact they ration the amout of supplies per customer -- it shows they care about their community & they are trying to have supplies when customers need it, & not only worried about making a buck. For the sixth time in three months (what can I say- COVID-19) I ran in to American Home and Hardware for home improvement materials. I am never more than 10 ft in the door before someone helpfully asks what I need. Yesterday it was conduit. I needed two 6ft lengths and it came in 10ft lengths. They offered to cut it for me and within ten minutes I had everything I needed, including hardware for my project, and was walking out the door. This place is the Chick Fil A of hardware stores! Outstanding customer service and experienced staff make this a fantastic place for all your hardware needs.

Been a customer here for almost 40 years. They have grown and changed quite a bit over time but they still provide courteous service and there's always plenty of people in the store who are very willing to help! They have a robust line of rental equipment that we use fairly regularly as well.

Sad when a small local business tries to support a supposedly small local lumber company and they will not sell 70 fence posts to be used use on a local construction job. They claim it would almost deplete their inventory, it's there loss because now I will be sure nothing is purchased from them for this project or any other project we have in Elkton, really their loss could of sold thousands of dollars of product.

Prices 30-45% above others. Only shop here unless i have to. They aren't refered to as hometown and high dollar without reason. Staff is friendly and helpful, however.. item prices are high. Propane for example is 35% higher than other retailer nearby.

We we're headed north on our boat and needed $7.00 worth of parts. I called, explained our situation and the folks at Elkton supply didn't miss a beat. They took the order, were very careful to get the correct parts, took a credit card, recommended the best place to dock, delivered the parts and confirmed how to get them. We we're very happy and now my wife has hot water.... happy wife happy life.

They are even patient with me when I keep going back several times to check something out, to ensure it is the right purchase for me. They are a great hometown store. I first want to say, I truly understand that business owners must be aware of people who steal. I also understand we as the public must be inconvenienced a little because of business owners protecting their property from thieves.Having said that, my wife and I went into American home and hardware just to look around and see what was possibly on sale or whatever.We walked through the door and past the cashier, whom said nothing to us about anything (we had our water proof bags with us, it was raining). So a lady (employee of American home and hardware) asked us to leave our bags up front by cashier (part where we the public must be inconvenience) both my wife and I said no problem and did so. However after that we had what seemed like every employee that worked there walking by us either through the isle we were in or just past us multiple times. They made us feel like we were trying to steal from them, needless to say my wife and I are not thieves. In fact we work for everything we have, very hard may I add. My point is that I was a little angry how they made us feel like we were only there to rip them off or something. So to anyone who wants to go in there just know that they will treat you like a criminal/theif if you are not known.Just something to think about! I know myself I will never spend my money in American home and hardware again.

Every time that I go there I always find what I'm looking for. Salespeople are always helpful. If you have questions go to the females that work there they are extremely knowledgeable about their products. The young boys that work there needs to learn the meaning of customer service

I always liked the old brick hardware store on Main Street but, even with the new ugly facade, they still stock building supplies along with lawn & garden and home supplies. The difference is that someone will help you find what you need if you're wandering. It's my take that they tend to feature higher quality product lines than big box stores. The one negative is driving around the lumber yard and storage sheds. It only takes one nail in a tire... I park in front for tools and paint but lumber or mulch you gotta go back there.

Very expensive on everything in their store. There is a very good reason why they are not open on Sundays anymore. I took my grill gas tank to be filled and it was more expensive than a replacement from Redners.

I took in two insulated pane windows for replacement. I did not bring in the measurements, but the actual windows. The store measured the panes and placed the order, but somehow ended up using the wrong measurements so they didn't fit my window frame. When I took the windows back, they tried to make it my fault that they ordered the wrong size. Seriously?!? Finally, they agreed to re-order the windows. Hopefully they get the size right this time, as they already disposed of my originals. No apology for the inconvenience, no price adjustment for the mistake, nothing; it was if I should be honored that they re-ordered the window without charging me more money. At least they gave me a band-aid for the cut on my hand from bringing the glass back to them to re-order. I reached out to management, but still haven't received any return contact. Oh, well, I won't be going back.
