The entire staff was awesome, I was searching for a replacement strike plate for my Kwikset dead bolt lock. After searching every box store and local hardware in the area, I found the only way to replace this small part was to buy an entire deadbolt unit. I was told by a local hardware store owner to try Michigan Security and Lock, and Im glad I did. They not only had this part but gave me a second one free because I couldnt remember which type I had. Any time I need a lock service, this is my new go-to place.

This place is a rip off, I took two automobile keys in to be cut they charged me $10.00 dollars when I said something about the price I was told if I would have bought the keys from them it would have been cheaper. (BEWARE) If I could have gave zero stars I would have.Imagine, I had to go back because the keys did not work they were cut wrong, a different guy helped me and said he normally does all the auto key work but was not their when I was their earlier and he was sorry. I spent my time and money (to much) the first time, and the second time going back all I get is a sorry? A company with good customer service would have gave me a full refund. Now, I which I could have given them 5 negative stars. What is not fair is paying premium shop minimum rates to cut two simple car keys and then having to return to get them recut so they work. I do not wish to discuss this with you any longer, I was at your business twice in one day and the second time you guys had the chance to make it right and chose not to, why should a person have to write a review about a company in order for them to value their customers. There is nothing more to say or do.

Was looking for a lock box replacement key. I figured I could just use the machine at Walmart or just go into Home Depot and have one made. Both places I visited hoping to be able to make a simple duplicate key with no luck (they generally can only do house keys and similar styles). I was told about Michigan Security and Lock by a very helpful person at Home Depot. I stopped in and met with a guy named Paul who was very helpful. Although they did not have the key I needed exactly, his experience and know how led him to a old Honda Motorcycle key which held the similar shape to the lock box key. He did have to shave it down and customize it to work. But got the job done and only took about 5 minutes from me walking in and getting a duplicate key (custom made at that!). They have a nice showroom and a number of products there for anyones needs in the lock/security genre. Very happy customer!
