I try my best to give this little store the benefit of the doubt but each time I have to interact with them devolves into a negative experience. The only reason I dont give them 1 star is because as long as I know exactly what I need and dont have to interact with them, I can usually get in and get out. I avoid this place like the plague but sometimes I find myself foolishly giving them another chance. If you know what you need then we Platte Cityers generally say that you are ok, but if you end up needing to deal with them on anything then you should expect to be disappointed. I think Ive had about all I can take with asking them for assistance or dealing with their rentals. Unfortunate as this is a convenient location. They simply dont find it important to deliver on quality customer service. The things that come out of their tenured staffs mouths can be alarming. Very short, sharp tones and passive aggressive. Their teen and various seasonal staff will check you out with a decent enough attitude most of the time but their tenured staff lacks basic Customer interaction skills. This is an accountability and training issue simply put, and I dont see that they have the customer service aptitude to even begin to address this issue. Back to Home Depot and Lowes.

Jeff's is great! They have everything you need like most hardware stores but you don't have to walk a half mile. They offer great service and are open 7 days a week. Very pleased Jeff cares so much about his customers.

The cashier knew exactly the location of the plumbing parts we needed. The store is signed well to find the isle needed and what the basic items will be located in the isle. A neat clean store. Easy in and out.

Ive shopped here for years and I always receive absolutely phenomenal customer service. They always ask you what your looking for and know exactly where it is in the store. This week, I stopped in to pickup a new chain for my chainsaw. Took in my old chain and was told they could sharpen it up and save me some money. Typically you drop off you chain and go back and pick it up. I was needing a tree down that day, so I was going to buy a spare chain anyway. Roxie asked me if I had 10 minutes to wait and sharpened my chain for me while I waited. This eagerness to take care of their customers is what keeps me going back to this place.

Uncommon fairness and customer service!! I dont usually write reviews, but my experience at Jeffs True Value has compelled me to do so. I had a big DIY project that required a large piece of equipment. I had never rented anything from Jeff, but after shopping around I found myself at his True Value. His rental price was by far the best around, but for various reasons (weather, scheduled maintenance, extended usage by others, etc.) I was unable to obtain it after a couple of attempts. To say Jeff bent over backwards to help me complete my project is an UNDERSTATEMENT. As if that was not enough, based on my actual usage, he offered to REDUCE the price we agreed upon when the equipment was returned. I was floored!! I had received so much value out of the transaction I turned down his offer. You only get this type of service from a small, locally owned business. Good prices + uncommon customer service = customer for life!

Excellent customer service. They spend the time to help you find what you really need. And when they don't have what you need, they ordered it with next day availability. Couldn't find the right belt for a riding mower anthere else and they found it right away. I wI'll go here first from now on

I moved here to the Plate City area in January and have done a lot of small things to the house, and, Jeff's is always my go-to place for anything I need. It's a fairly small store, but, they've never NOT had what I needed! I've also used their Uhaul services twice, now.I've never walked in without being welcomed by the cashier and asked by at least one associate if I needed help finding anything. Thanks everyone at Jeff's!!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I try to shop local, but BILL has made sure that I NEVER shop in another ACE TRUE VALUE STORE. I have spent a lot of money in this store, rarely getting good customer service, especially when he is there. Tonight I went to buy some spray paint, and he acted annoyed that I needed help, eating while I tried to ask him a question. While I was talking to him, he walked off. When I went up to the cashier, I asked her if he was the owner. She said no, and I told her how RUDE he was, and she said she HEARS THAT A LOT! He approached us as we were talking & seemed irritated. I told him I didn't appreciate him always acting annoyed & short with me when I come in...he responded with ' WHATEVER!' I told him that isn't how you treat customers! He told me I needed to leave (VERY STERNLY) & proceeded to show me the door. After I walked out, I decided I wanted his name, so I walked back in & he REFUSED to tell me his name. So I got closer to look at his name tag & that TOTALLY PISSED HIM OFF! He got AGGRESSIVE with me, RAISED HIS VOICE & told me I better leave, basically kicking me out of the store!! All because I expected good customer service, & wanted to complain when I felt I was being treated poorly! This 'BILL' person obviously has issues & should NOT be working in customer service!! SHAME ON ACE HARDWARE for allowing your customers to be treated like this!!!!!!

I rented a Uhaul from another place in Leavenworth and realized I needed a bigger truck. Jeff and his staff had a bigger truck and very quickly help me setup the trucks to transfer from the smaller to the larger. He offered us water and continuously checked on us to see if we needed anything. I've never experienced a higher level of customer service.

We took our push lawn mower in to have it serviced (blade sharpening and an oil change). We were told it would be no more than $30.00 for the complete service. We were told it would be done in a day to two days; it took 8 days to complete the service. When we went to pick it up it was $68.00. The cashier could not explain why it was higher than normal. But she did admit that is was higher than normal. She told us the owner Jeff would be in on Monday and he would speak to us about the charges. He was not in the store on Monday; we called on Tuesday and Wednesday. We finally received a phone call back on Wednesday. He said that was the normal cost. We like to shop local, but it is obvious Jeff is not interested in keeping his customers happy. Do not trust this store. WE WILL TAKE OUR BUSSINESS ELSEWHERE!

Jeff's employees are always as helpful as can be. I see some of these other reviews and they are outrageous. I'm sure these incidents are very exaggerated. Also, this 'BILL' character is no longer employed there. I have always been pointed directly to all the things I needed for various projects which my business relies on. There is forever someone there holding the door for you and asking if you need any kind of assistance, not to mention loading up anything you have purchased. They have customer service down to a T.

My experience was horrible went there on twoooccupations to get some glass cut for window repairs the first time i was told Jeff was the only person who could cut glass seriously what kinda hardware store is this the second the store was closed at two thirty in the midle of the day on a tuesday what is the deal wow i run a buisness I'd go bankrupt if i run my buisness that way may they just dont care if they go bankrupt I'd give them zero stars if that was an option because that how i felt like they treated me
