I live in a condo building. A tall guy named Dave came out. Very, very expensive to fix two doors. Was here for 45 minutes and charged over $200. Didn't need any parts or anything. When he said he was done and wanted to get paid, the door was still squeaky, which I mentioned to him, so at that point he added WD-40. Then he wanted to get paid again, but I noticed the door was slamming shut. At that point he added some rubber inside the door to help with the slamming. I hate when I have to tell supposed professionals how to do their job. Do not use this guy.

Great service! I came in a month ago with a blank Subaru key fob I bought on ebay. I called a couple of locksmiths but they couldn't program Subaru keys. NJ Locksmith could & quoted half the price of the dealer. When I arrived at NJ Locksmith, Jessica was friendly, efficient and skilled. I absolutely recommend this place! Thanks Jessica!

I was in a bind, had a commercial building that the door blow off the hinges in the wind. Looked up a locksmith and nj locksmith came up. So I took a chance and contacted them. The same day Dave came out (on time may I add, unusual these days). He gave me a quote, I agreed and the next day it was done. If I could give more stars I would. These are real pros, after I discovered them for cutting keys, I have never been back to a hardware store or Home Depot They guarantee their keys, and stamp them so when you bring them back you need no receipt. I also bought a smart key from them and they were totally professional with that. The folks who work here, Dave and Jessica, are efficient and courteous. But mostly, they are pros. Grateful to have a shop like this in my neighborhood.

My first time going here was a last resort to get a new electronic key fob for my used Toyota recently bought that didn't have it when purchased. A previous locksmith I went to was unable to complete the job. Another so called auto locksmith said it was too difficult. Dealer wanted a lot more money than I was willing to pay. So I went here to North Bergen on a Saturday without an appointment. The lady there completed the job relatively quickly with no hassle or trying to get me to do or order things I didn't need. I was able to test all keys before paying and was explained exactly what needed to be done. I was very pleased and price very reasonable. I will definitely go here again for any type of locksmith needs. Price was less than half of what dealer wanted plus both my old keys work as spares which wouldn't have been the case going to the dealer. I recommend checking here first before going to a dealer for any types of auto keys. Would also go here for any residential key needs also.

AUTO TRANSPONDER KEYS! I needed two extra transponder keys for my new vehicle and the dealer wanted nearly $200 each. NJ Locksmith cut, programmed the two transponder keys blanks (that I purchased on E-bay for $12 each) and reprogrammed all of the existing keys for about $100. Dave responded promptly to my email questions and the young lady in the store (forgot to ask for her name) couldn't have been nicer. Also they have a nice website. I highly recommend them.

I needed window chards installed in a 2 bedroom small appt for 2 windows. They Insisted on a $120 non refundable deposit just to look at the place. Said he would scribble something on a piece of paper as a receipt. When I offered to provide my credit card over the phone he insisted that I send him my credit card information in email. When I told him that puts me at risk as anyone could get a hold of my information. He was more concerned about his own risk. Then complained about losing his licaense. Finally called the same day to cancel because of his risk and had the nerve to call my tenant to tell them I would not pay. Ridiculous. I found someone from home advisor the same day that was very professional... came, measured, charged a $50 deposit... and finished the work. Its a tiny place with 2 windows... please.

Locked out of my place at 1:30 am on 3/14/15.Called one of those 'call-center' numbers that came up on the top of a Google search and it just sounded shady. HOW TO SPOT: 1) A shady website will say 'local' an awful lot, and they'll list a bunch of towns that they service 2) A genuine company's website will (generally) have pictures of their van(s) or storefront because they know that the shady ones don't have that 3) Reviews: even these aren't fool proof, because the shady companies still do that to seem legit, you need to sort through the BS ones. 4) If you call a number and they say a 'technician will call you back', it's a scam. No one should have to call you back. 5) Never fall for the $19 or $39 '15 min or less' tag line. Depending on the time of day, it should cost about $100 to pick your lock and it'll take 3 seconds.NJ Locksmith - I got their name from my apartment's management company, again it's 1:30 am, and I was a little weary of the name (because that's the typical generic name most shady companies use). But then I saw their website - complete with address, van pics, and a little history about the company. That was enough for me. I called them up and they said they'd be there in 20-25 minutes. I said I was bringing cash so how much exactly do I need (that's a good way to dissuade a potential scam artist too, sometimes). The guy comes, nice big van with company info all over it, and no drill - that's key. If they show up with a drill, just stop it right there. 99% of the time they can pick it.So this guy was great, he picked the lock in 3 seconds flat, I paid him the $120 (no problem with that price at that hour, the poor guy looked real tired.)I had just spent about 15 minutes reading about the whole scam that I almost fell victim of, so the fact that I just spent 2 hours outside in the cold, and this guy didn't take advantage of me made me give him the firmest handshake most genuine thank you ever. There's something to be said about someone who can clearly rip you off, but doesn't. I don't know, maybe I'm jaded and shouldn't expect so little of people, but I don't think I'm alone in that.
