Okay, I needed a locksmith to get into my Mesa gun safe. Looked up locksmiths in my area (Albemarle) and saw Hartsell's. Read the 1 review on Hartsell's Locksmith and thought I would go by and speak with them regarded their services despite the negative review. All I can say is WOW! This guy was a total JERK. I asked him if he could drill a Mesa gun safe, he responded; 'I never hear of that kind of safe'. Then he asked, 'Where's the safe at'? I said, its in my house. 'Well where's that'? Then he proceeds to tell me that he charged $50.00 just to drive out there and then a $100.00 per hour until. In all honesty, I don't know that this guy could have even got into the safe, after all he had never heard of it! So, I'm not going to let the review stop here. I called a locksmith in Concord, left a message, and he (David) called me back shortly afterwards. He advised me that he didn't specialize in gun safes and politely directed me to someone that was. That locksmith came out and didn't even charge a fee for mileage. So you see, there are people out there that (1) have people skills (unlike Hartsell's), (2) are knowledge able, (3) don't mind trying to help, (4) know how to run a business. I guess that's why no one was standing in line at Hartsell's. By the way, the other locksmith was very knowledgeable about Mesa gun safes. It's a shame you can't do a review with less than 1 star, cause if you could, I would rate Hartsell's less than one.

I recently bought a transponder key for my 2004 toyota sienna and had the chip programmed. since the se keys are soo expensive, I wanted to take it to a professional who knew how to cut keys and get it right. Little did I know how unknowledgeable and unprofessional they were going to be. This post is not exaggerated once bit. First, the guy took my key over to the key cutter and acted like he had never worked it before. after he turned it on, he kept cutting a little and turning it off. finally he went outside to check it and he had cut the key totally wrong. then the 2 guys proceeded to argue to each about messing the key up. then then another guy told us he couldnt do anything but cut another key. we told him this one was already programmed and he then asked us how we managed to get it programmed before it was cut.....that right there showed me just how unknowledgeable they actually were. You mean to tell me that this is part of your job and you dont know how to program a key? I searched the web for 5 minutes before i found out how to do it. We finally just told them we just want the money we paid for that key and left. I was at a loss of words from the stupidity i witnessed. Please be warned that this place is honestly a joke and I have no clue how they stay in business. I wish someone could have warned us before we wasted our time.

They called and said they was close to me and was working on a client at that time. Called me an hour later to say he would be right there. Asked how long and he said 30 to 40 minutes. Over an hour and a half. I called someone else that arrived 15 minutes later.
