Our RV Adventures

Spent a few nights in Alpine and had some trouble with the electrical system on my RV. It took several trips to the store to get the parts I needed to make the repair. They stock a little bit of everything and if they don't have it they direct you to whom they know should have it. Helpful and friendly.

The manager with red hair, I do not remember her name, is one of the most unpleasant humans I've ever met. She has zero customer service skills, is extremely rude, and thinks she knows more than you about everything. I work in customer service and I have no idea how this woman is still employed. I will take my business elsewhere and you should too if you're reading this. For a store to claim they're like family to their customers, she is not the kind of family I'd want, more like the evil aunt you don't want to invite for a holiday dinner. I'd rather drive to Odessa for things I need rather than go to True Value.

Customer service is hit and miss. Sometimes Ive been there and theyve been very friendly and helpful and other times not so much. I can understand having to wait for Customerservice if they are busy but the times they were not helpful it was just a couple employees standing around chatting, when I asked them where something was they didnt show me to it they just pointed to the aisle and continued their conversation. I dont know what her name is, but the skinny lady with short hair has always been very pleasant to deal with.

There are some neat things inside of the store. But I'm get three stars because the cashier and the manager were both less than friendly or polite. I found a heater and the sale sticker listed it as 80 bucks instead of 100. I took it to the register but the cashier rang it up at full price. When I inquired about the sale price she was upset. She said, 'It doesn't come up as on sale.' I told her that it was the last one and that the sticker listed it as on sale and asked if she would like for me to bring the sticker to the front so that she could look at it. She actually threw her hands into the air and yelled at me to go and get the sticker. I place my item to the side and allow the person behind me to go through line while I went to grab the sale sticker from the Shelf where I had found the heater. When I returned to the register she had called the manager over, understandably, and was explaining the situation in a gruff tone. Apparently someone was supposed to have removed the sale sticker from the shelf and the item was not supposed to be for sale at counted price, but because the sale sticker was still currently displayed, they decided without any help or prodding from me that they should give it to me at the discounted price. The manager was the troubled by the whole ordeal and walked away mumbling and shaking his head. Be cashier was quite upset that I was getting my heater for $80 instead of $100 and she made sure to tell me that on more than one occasion. Honestly, I really liked the heater and I wanted it badly enough to have paid the $100. If they simply would have told me that it wasn't on sale I would have paid the full price. I wouldn't even have attempted to argue. And even though I'm certain the cashier, Virginia, wasn't losing the $20 from her own pocket, she seems to blame the mistake on me. She made no effort to hide her annoyance as she spoke to me harshly and scowled as I thanked her and left the store. Now, I'm not going to lose any sleep over the way she behaved. But it was definitely less than professional. Ultimately, the items in this store are of good quality, although slightly overpriced and I would recommend it to my friends. I will most likely visit the store again. However, I will make sure to steer clear of Virginia.

It's great that we have a home-owned and operated store! They have plenty of staff to help you find what you're looking for. Bob Ward has employed hundreds of our friends and neighbors through the years....maybe more! He's a pillar of our community who is always willing to support worthwhile causes such as sports and programs for our children. So, why spend my money elsewhere? Thanks, Bob!

Not satisfied, we spent a lot of money there and had had nothing but problems with every purchase we have made there! I recommend everyone go to sears. They are nice, helpful and warranty their products! None of which True value are!! I would not have gave a star but my phone made me!!

You don't have to spend very long in Alpine to realize that every store houses more than one type of good. True Value is no exception, as it offers paint mixing, tools, tool rental, a Radio Shack, clothing, gifts and knick knacks, sporting goods, firearms, and more. It's also the place for getting keys copied. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

I just want to say that your store's customer service is HORRIBLE!!! every time I call, everyone that answers phones have horrible attitude!!! If you don't like dealing with customers in person or on the phone, please do the public a favor and find something you do enjoy doing. I work in customer service and I do not treat people that way.
