1star. I came in to buy some paint. I had a few questions. They were busy so they called an employee from another department to help me. I asked (Dave) if he was familiar with the paint department since I wanted an expert opinion. I guess he didn't like my question. He totally ignored me, turned around and walked away. Wow, never been treated like that before. If he was my employee, he would be in the unemployment line tomorrow.

This store is a real hometown experience. You would be surprised at the variety of products here. Painting, hunting, pets and supplies and food, tools, home improvement, a fantastic garden center (great for Mother's Day gifts), lawn and garden, clothes like sweatshirts and jackets, boots and mud boots, grills, candy and cute little gifty items. They even have smart home things like bulbs and door bells! Did I mention the popcorn? Perhaps its most staple item, there is always freshly made popcorn waiting fior your taking. The employees are courteous, helpful, friendly, and professional. Plus the new building had a full basement as well as a second story for storage. Then a few years later we leased another property down the street and operated out of both buildings. In 1995 a former ACE store became available, so we gave up the other two properties and moved to our current location. Were on the east side of town where most of the retail stores are located. The best local hardware store in the area attentive and intelligent staff they listen to your needs and always suggest the right product to do the job you have at hand whether it's needing just a screw or nut or needing large equipment for purchase or rental not once have I had any problems with them

Its a nice store.. I bought some expensive garden lights.. over 160 dollars worth.. they stopped working after a month.. an couldnt get new ones.. for how much I spent.. now I have to throw them away..

*I wish there were two ratings: one for service and one for the store. Since there is only one, consider this rating is for the store-it's available items and the overall impression I got upon entering.I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of items in both the craft department and the paint department. I usually head out of town to find a wider variety of crafting items, I won't need to resort to this anymore. Qualheim's True Value gives bigger stores a run for their money. However, asking the young, female clerk (we'll call her A.) where I could find a certain item was a colossal waste of my valuable time. The blank stare I received, coupled with her, 'uh, I don't really know. Um,Sorry?' (upon which she returned to stocking a shelf and pretended I wasn't standing in front of her), really caused me to shake my head in disbelief. I would have been better off saving the time I spent asking her for help and using it to blindly search for the elusive item on my own. I went to the service desk where another young girl was working. I was directed to the 'Chicken and Rabbit Food Dept' with a point of her finger when I asked her where to find SEWING ITEMS. The only help I received was from 2 gentlemen employees; one, David, a friendly man working in the framing department noticed me wandering around the Chicken Feed aisle and WALKED me to where the item should be. He then asked if there was anything else I needed. The second man, working in the farming dept. was equally as helpful and friendly when I was unable to locate another item. Apparently the term Customer Service was only deemed important up until 1999, when it went the way of good manners, treating others with respect, good grammar, and appropriate dress. Too bad!

This hardware store has everything you'd ever want or need. Very attractive inside and out with employees who know what they are doing. I take my lawn mower there every spring for a check up. Last year they were honest and said it wasn't worth fixing. I enjoy walking around just looking at things. You can blow an hour there and enjoy every minute. They also have free popcorn on the way out. I wish we had a hardware store this nice back home!

The pet department sucks. They have no clue what they are doing with the fiddler crabs. We just bought 3 fish today and don't know if they'll survive because they are so beat up from the employee trying to catch them. The one fish got stuck in the net and the employee practically ripped it's fine off trying to remove it.

I went to this place once and will not go back again! I was looking at the plants outside with my service dog and a woman who works there started talking NOT to me but to my service dog! The employee was coming toward me NOT to ask me if there was any I would like help with buying but she was coming up to me because she was talking to my service dog and trying to PET my service dog. My service dog was clearly labeled with 5 signs that read the following WORKING Do Not PET DO NOT Distract Service Dog. Psychiatric Service Dog. When I told her Do Not pet my service dog she said why does it bite? I said NO Because she is a service dog! She left without saying another word in a huff. I will not spend a single cent at a place that doesn't train their staff to respect people who have disabilities and their service dogs who assist them.
