Dude told me it would be a couple of minutes then let 2 ppl in front of me. He told me he had to program the key. Dashcam showed him do nothing of the sort.

Best local Locksmith for any type of key. They have car key blanks which you can put the wireless signal part from the old one into. Our HOA has them rekey all our security door locks periodically. They also fix all our rusted lock issues since we're next to the Beach.

Terrible. I went in to make copies of a couple keys and neither key worked! When I looked closer at the copies, they looked identical to each other and didn't resemble the keys I brought in at all. So strange how that could've gotten screwed up so bad. I read all these other reviews about friendly service (and the other couple fellas there did seem nice enough), but unfortunately I got helped by the one who seemed he didn't really want to be there... Or maybe he was having a bad day? Anyway, I don't care for friendly service at a key place, but it would've been nice to have gotten my keys copied correctly.

I walked in right at noon when they were closing over the Thanksgiving holiday. Unknown to me they closed at noon but I couldn't tell because they were more than willing to help and I had an unusual task for them. One locksmith said that they probably can't do it but the other locksmith (Anthony) continued to think about it and I could tell that he was thinking of a way to MAKE it work. After the initial cutting of the key Anthony would work with it then test it on my car. He made 5 or 6 trips to my vehicle making modifications to the key each trip. I suspected he had many years of experience so I asked him and he said that he owned a locksmith shop but it went under (pretty much because of life) and he had it for a number of years. When he was finished, the product was perfect. Pro-Tec Lock and Safe now has a life time customer based on his professionalism and not showing a single sign that he was working past closing, and when i realized that they had closed an hour before he wouldn't take a tip. A true working man. The other locksmith's could also be great as well, I only worked with Anthony. Five stars for professionalism, and not to mention the can do drive.

Locksmiths can be hit-or-miss. Pro-Tec is the BEST. Fair prices, excellent service, and they know what they are doing! Obscure locks, uncommon key blanks.....all in stock and priced reasonably. I've been working with locksmiths on auto restoration projects for 20 years. Pro-Tec has been the best I've come across, hands down.

Not the nicest and welcoming bunch but they get 5 stars simply because I just came from a different locksmith who spent 45 minutes trying to fabricate a key for my camper shell...told me he couldnt do it and I needed to call the manufacturer...these guys banged it out in 15 minutes without a sweat...they know their stuff and that's all that matters!

Anthony was awesome, these guys rock. He is honest, explains his work and is an expert. Pro Tec came out the same day service and came back the next day to help even more without charge I might add as my french door was not locking. Pro-Tec Lock and Safe of Oceanside is the best hands down

I just needed a couple of copies of the front door key. The last ones I bought someplace cheap--Walmart, probably, and they BARELY worked; what a pain in the neck. I saw online that Pro-Tec Lock & Safe was nearby, so I went there. Easy to find, easy to park, totally reasonable price and in just a minute I walked out with 2 keys that work perfectly!! It really makes sense to deal with a trades person who knows what he is doing. Thanks for making my life less of a hassle.
