Very experienced local locksmith for decades, Coast Lock and safe has 2 locations: midtown and Watsonville. Great work and effort is put into every job. Don't scoff at their prices, they're on par with most other locksmiths in the area and most car TP keying is considerably less than the dealer. Only locksmith that's open on Saturdays too.

The fees are rapacious. They are approximately a mile and a half from my house, middle of the day call, $135. When I mentioned the fee was somewhat steep the gentleman said yeah. The individual who spent approximately 60 seconds getting into my home was very nice. But that does not improve the experience.I would not recommend them at all.

I recently had some mechanical issues with my car and was told that my keys no longer worked and should get new ones made. I called Coast Lock and Safe and Kirsten told me to bring it in. After trying the keys in the doors and trunk (which I had not even thought to do), it appeared it was my ignition lock cylinder which they told me would take about an hour and cost approximately $100 to fix. After spending time to take it apart and problem solve it - Kirsten could not replicate the problem and after cleaning it up and putting it back together, I was on my way with working parts and keys and half the cost expected! Professional, friendly, competent.

Fast and friendly. I brought in a lock to have it re-keyed and expected to drop it off and pick it up later. But no, they re-keyed it and made four new keys within 10 minutes while I waited. And, they didn't over charge me for the service. NICE!

I called with mere questions and was answered in the most unprofessional manner I have ever experienced. I dont recommend this place at all. Very very very unprofessional and rude.

Ive been here to replace an entire ring of lost keys and in a few minutes 15 different keys are ready. They have re-keyed the locks on my house and were lower than anyone else in town. I went on eBay to buy a key fob for my honda. Coast was actually lower priced if you compare the cost if the fob, shipping, and needing a local locksmith or dealer to program it.

Gave us a visibly wrong key. Eventhough we were there to get a duplicate. Tried to 'fix' the same key that was already wrong. Wouldn't give us a full refund and blamed it on my car even thought it was a visibly wrong. Ended up paying $25 for no key and terrible customer service. I would not recomend this place for car keys or customer service.

Used them before and they were a little expensive, but when my wife called them to make a key they pulled a classic 'bait and switch' $115 for your key, OK a little expensive but when we got there $187 for the key you have.
