I walked in to this location (off Madison) with 1.5 keys for two different locks. Yes, half a key. It had luckily been broken off at a decent spot during my last move. Bonus? The snapped off part was unable to be located by the movers. Also, Ive never needed a key service like this before so I looked only to read reviews on who to go. Even after extracting the broken off part, I wasnt sure who would even cut me a copy. So I rolled the dice.I first went to Home Depot. Ive made keys there before and it was a lot closer than my local ACE store. However, the machine failed to even recognize the fully intact key. Flipped it around, tried a few things and nothing. The employee highly recommended Bobs. He said he sends everyone over there and talked about it being a family run business who knew their stuff. So I figured why not!When you get there go towards the back behind the house. Thats is where the shop is located. There were three gentlemen who were very friendly and greeted you promptly. Most of the time they could spend a few seconds looking at it and they knew what type it was. While I was waiting on the half key troublemaker, another lady walked in who said someone from Lowes recommended to come here as well. Shes was in an out in no time with an un-copiable in no time! The two others guys (after helping customers) are fluent in sarcasm as well and could hold a funny conversation while the other gentlemen diligently worked on the half key.They keys that I personally saw that were cut were charged $3.50 per key. Even with the trouble piece I wasnt there any longer than 10 minutes. They have a return policy of 15 days to test the key(s) and if you return with the receipt they will make it right. I went home right away and all the keys worked! I was ecstatic and plan to go back for any other lock-related services I may need in the future. I overheard that they charge a flat rate when coming to you and had several marked vehicles for such an occasion.So, lesson is when Home Depot and Lowes from two different areas both recommend Bobs, you know they have a great reputation! I can confirm with my experience that it is a well deserved one.Pro-tip: on the lock itself, it has a three digit number on it which they can use to help the key faster when it isnt obvious (like mine were).

I had a car key that snapped in half. They made me a new one and used the old one to have the new one chipped all for $20!!!!!!! BEST DEAL you could ever get, you will not get a cheaper price than that! Any locksmith that has to come to you, make the key and have it programmed to the car will always be over $100, and dealerships would also be pricey to program the keys. I was so happy about saving at least $100, because I was expecting to pay a couple hundred to have it taken care of. I even called ahead of time and was told it would be about $70, then found out it was only $20! I was only in there for maybe 20 minutes, so I spent about no time at all and was super happy with the service. Everyone was very knowledgeable, helpful and nice! Will absolutely be recommending this place to everyone! THANK YOU BOB'S LOCK SERVICE, you guys really saved me SO much time, money, trouble and hassle. I really couldn't be more happy with this business.

The people who own this place are really cool people! They can make pretty much any key you could possibly want! Ever seen The Matrix: Revolution? Remember the key maker? That's these guys! Lol. They also have the only machine in America that can specially cut a key that you can only get in Germany!

Made an appointment last week to have a key fob programmed. Forgot my appointment time, and consequently was late. Called to ask if I could still have the service done. They were happy to still complete my service and was done very quickly. Prices are beyond reasonable. One of the employees on staff even showed me some collector keys while I waited. Awesome place!

We have used Bob's Lock's for 20+ years and never have I been treated so poorly. The original owner is probably turning over in his grave!! They have managed to loose not one but two control keys to our buildings all while charging us to replace all the cores in order for them to have a control key. I asked the last time (2014) if I could keep the control key and was told no. Today when I questioned the serviceman about the control key he got very irritated with me and told me to call dispatch. After explaining to the representative of Bob's Lock's what had happened he informed me there was nothing they could do because they never had the control key. I ask if I would have to pay again to have new cores installed by them and he said no because he wasn't going to do that. I asked why not and he said he just wasn't going to do that. The best part of today's little interaction is how he then stated he was going above and beyond by doing me a favor for not charging us the $55 fee to repair a broken lock today. All while blaming his company's negligence on us. My question is why are you so quick to give us free service if your company did nothing wrong? Today's service was for a broken lock and I do feel I should pay for the repair. My concern is about having to pay again for new cores in all three of our buildings in order to have a control key.

Josh helped me with some rekeying on a home, he really went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. It meant a lot and helped relieve a really stressful situation. Its great to feel like you can trust a vendor rather than feel on guard all the time. I highly recommend Bobs and would use them anytime I need services again. I had a courier service break off a key in one of my puck locks on my work van. I was very bummed and nervous the service would not be able to be completed because the key was in the lock deep! However, even though I arrived with only fifteen minutes until closing the employee at Bobs Lock (didnt catch her name) was able to work diligently in 30 weather and remove the key from the lock!! I was very impressed! I would have given up, but she stuck with it and the rate was more than reasonable!! Only $5!! I will definitely call Bobs Lock going forward when I need Lock service of any kind!!

I called this location/store because of the good ratings they had plus I had somebody recommend them. I have a small safe that I wanted them to take a look at. They took my info and never called me back. I called them a few times over a 3 week period to give them a chance but once again nothing got done. Would not recommend these guys.
