I called about having a key made for my vehicle after I lost my last copy. I asked several times if they could make a new key for the vehicle if I was able to bring the vehicle to them and they said yes. After finding a way to start my car without a key and bring my car to them, they rudely said they could not do this and my only option would be to bring my car to the dealer. This was also not true. Very bad experience.

I called and inquired if they could program a key for my F250 and they assured me they could. I drove to their office and the guys behind the counter were very short with me. They told me the used key fob I bought was VIN locked and they could not program it. I wasted my time driving downtown in traffic after calling to confirm. Well, went to my Ford dealership and they programmed it right away, albeit for twice the price. They said the fobs are not VIN locked as the associate so rudely stated.

Fast friendly service. While getting a replacement key to my car I saw that they had a special lock for my custom made wrought Iron door. I thought they didn't make the lock and ordered a new door. When I saw that this place had what I needed I cancelled my order for the new door and installed the new pop in single cylinder lock. Good to go. And I might add the price for my car key was half of what the car dealer quoted. Check this place out.

I can't say enough positive things about Star. They were available first thing on a Monday, came to our residence soon thereafter, returned not long after that with the necessary parts for repairs on our home locks, and were finished in a timely manner. Bert, the locksmith, was mannerly and competent. It's a great feeling to support local companies and have them make us proud. If you're in Central City, Mid-city, Treme or Bayou St John, they are the ones!

Brought in a vehicle key to have programmed and cut. They cut the key before attempting to program the remote, then informed me after the key was cut that the remote was incorrect for my vehicle (despite it being identical to the original) I asked the associate if I could at least use the key to unlock the doors and start the car, he stated that I could. (It does start the car, does not unlock the doors) Still charged me $55 for a worthless key that took him 2 minutes to cut, and offered no alternative except tough luck. These guys are terrible,take your business elsewhere.

I thought it would be ghetto, lol. But it's similar to any business despite the neighborhood.I went to get one key made for $2. Lowes cost about 25 cents cheaper but coming here and living in Midcity, this place saves me 20 minutes of overall time and a $1 in gas.
