Rented a uhaul pick up from them marked at $19.99 a day. 24 hrs and less than 150 miles later i was charged $200.00 pluss a $25 cleaning fee because the rubber utility floorboard was dirty. Would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Do not rent the yellow lift. Payed $155 for 4 hours. When I picked the equipment up, showed full charge. Got to jobsite, battery was to weak to even set down outriggers. No outlet available. Spend 1.5 hours charging. They charged me an extra $97 dollars for being 2 hrs late, when I had to charge THEIR machine. Never again.

Stopped by on a early Sunday afternoon. Brad's was moderately busy and appeared to be properly staffed. Shopping for replacement handles and work benches. Struck out on handles that weren't a common size due to the age of what they were going on. Brad's was roughly $100 higher for a bench that had less features and slightly smaller in overall size than what could be found on-line at LOWE'S. I'm an advocate for shopping local but I'm not a fool either.

Was in Mt Vernon on business had a little time to pass. Brad's true value hardware is an attractive place/business, clean cut. Not many men can resist a chance to browse a hardware store... Even if you don't need something specific.... At That moment, there is always a chance to come across something useful, something that you cannot live without. Several pleasant employees offered help but seemed to understand the concept of browsing and did not rush me... I did not find anything today. But I will be back when I need or want something and I sense I will be welcome. I tend to like hardware stores on sunny days and gush a bit but I do not know the owners or employees of Brad's.

I get my wood pellets at Brad's True Value they have the best prices in the area. Plus no sales tax. Jasper Country charges sales tax on heating supplies .

Large selection, clean and well organized. Friendly staff. Was helped right when walked through the door. Assisted with finding both items on our list. Parking was excellent and easy entry access for anyone. They also rent U-Haul.

Horrible service! I called to see if the supplies I needed were in stock and the employee that answered the phone was extremely rude and unnecessarily yelled at me when asking questions. I could handle the employee being rude, but it was when he hung up on me that angered me the most!

If I could give 0 stars I would, because of their lack of concern for human safety. My husband is a contractor and he rented a boom lift for a job. Upon arriving at the site and setting it up, he realized the hydraulic lift cylinders were losing pressure while the bucket is in the air which causes the boom to fall on its own. Several times throughout the day (at least 10 times) it lost the pressure and dropped him from the air. He called in the middle of the work day and the employee they talked to said they would discuss it when he returned the equipment the next day. After returning the equipment, he went in the discuss the situation. Not only did the employees at Brad's True Value not make it right financially, they said that another company had scheduled to rent it out in the next hour and that they were going to allow them to take it without disclosing the issues. Brad's True Value of Mt Vernon does not properly maintain their equipment, does not care about safety concerns, and knowingly withholds information.

I walked-in this place, sometime ago, and asked for an application of employment and was DENIED, by 'Dennis', because I have long hair. I THEN let him know that hairnets, man-buns, and PROPER grooming should be considered. I THEN asked that crotchety ol' conservative what he says to prospective FEMALE applicants if they, too, should have long hair.Ya know what he replied? 'Sir, the only female we have working here is in her office'. Imho, this place is NOT an equal opportunity employer and it's one of the very FEW bitnisseses that have stood the test of time in this shallow, phobic lil' town.
