Man, I love this store. I just found a new favorite paint, thanks to them too. I needed a Gliddon paint, and the local big box stores couldn't figure out how to take my order for pickup over the phone. On a whim I called True Value in Rio Rancho because I heard that they could match paint codes. Answer was yes :-) I bought a test gallon, and loved it. I requested 20 more gallons and thought that there would be a small shade mismatch from the original gallon. The 5 gallon mix exactly matched that first gallon, and the paint is very, very good. This is thick paint, so use a 1/2' nap roller to apply. I bought the 'Easy Care Ultra Premium' interior eggshell. The application is a little lower as the paint is so thick, but that is what happens with quality paint. Very good hiding capability, and from what I can tell the durability looks like it will be exceptional.

Staff is always so happy to help with any questions and guide you to the right section. Started my gardening a little late so this isn't usually as applicable but I get 26 seed packets for 4 dollars as they're currently 75% off and still have quite a bit of flowers and vegetables (can always stock up!).

Very helpful..they carry all plumbing stuff for old Amrep shower and bath repair perfect because no one else does..you would have to have a copper sweater to fix pipes if they didn't carry them

Great place for what you need. I am a young widow and they have taught me what I needed to know to complete 'honey do' tasks around my home. They remember me every time I go into that store. The lady behind the counter may not be the most welcoming with a fake 'Welcome to Whatever' without looking up, but she will ask if you are not sure where to go what you need help with. She will get someone to assist you. Most customers are repeat customers and know where they need to go. The rest of the staff is outstanding! They are very knowledgeable! I love the small town feel of the store. That is becoming rare these days. I shop there for all my project needs.

If you want to go to a hardware store where the employees actually care, and can usually give you the useful home improvement information you need, look no further than Rio Rancho True Value. From issues as diverse as swamp coolers, plumbing, and cleaning stubborn hard water stains out of my toilet without scratches, they've helped me numerous times. And they have a huge collection of nuts, bolts, and assorted hardware to fix EVERY situation I've ever encountered. The big box stores cannot even compete with their selection of small parts!

Their website says that one service they provide was 'pipe cutting.' Since it is a national chain, I called ahead and asked if they really did cut pipes and discussed what kind of pipe I needed cutting. I was told that they could cut it. So, I made the trip over there on my lunch hour. When I got there, the woman that was called to help me said 'oh, you can cut that with a hacksaw' When I asked about the pipe cutter, she said that they 'don't do that'. I thought that because the reviews had talked about a mom/pop kind of place, that they would be helpful. NOT!! If they had been honest on the phone, I wouldn't have made the trip, but I object to making the drive and then being treated so rudely!
