Just got back from Empire Lock. They were able to cut me a duplicate key for my Suzuki motorcycle from a blank I brought along. Its great to know nice, friendly people who know their business better than all the rest. Aura (hopefully I spelled that right) did a fantastic job and I even stayed a little while to chat because of how good the service was. This is a legit brooklyn shop with all the charm, as well as the bona fides which come from years of experience. Check them out next time you need service on your lock or keys!

Tried to get a copy of my dryer lint trap key made, but was instantly profiled, looked up and down and treated as if I was doing something wrong. When the poorly presentable lady asked where the key was from, I explained it was for my dryer machine lint trap. She imminently started inquiring where was my dryer located at?!, asking me for my name and why I needed copies?! Making me feel very uncomfortable as if I was up to no good. Maybe if I would of gone with my suit and videos, pictures of my dryer I would of had a my key made? Not sure but I would not recommend anyone that to go here. Service is atrocious.As per the response you provided, why is it that I had to write this review to get that answer? None of this was told nor explained to me while there. Not once did you reference or even provided me the option to have a lock smith go on site. That should of been your main priority to keep the customer and deliver good, not even great customer service. All I received from you was an attitude, staring me up and down and tossing my keys across your table. It's very disappointing that instead of recognizing you made a error by treating me that way, you justify yourself in a way that holds no merit. I totally was discriminated by you, I would strongly suggest some kind of training so your business is able to thrive in this currently renovated up and coming neighborhood like Williamsburg. The neighborhood is being inhabited by young professionals who will not keep quiet when treated unfairly simply because of their appearance and/or the mood of the employee behind the counter.

These guys a thiefs. Especially the female employee. Over priced for making a simple car key. I was providing the blank key and fob. The prices are higher than the car dealership. Really nasty attitude. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Its not worth the headache.

Stopped in the store today with a few odd but specific requests and questions after visiting 4 other locksmith locations in Manhattan. All of the manhattan shops didnt help at all. This place did and they answered all of my questions. Definitely a trustworthy place. They helped again when I called back with even more questions. Forget the name of the women I talked to but she was very nice!

THE PLACE TO COPY YOUR KEYS. I went to 3 different places (yes 3!!!!),in the neighborhood to copy my keys and ended up with many keys that did not work even coming back to the places to try to adjust them. I finally ended up at Empire Lock where they got it right at the first try. Thank god there are people that know what they are doing!!!

I am so lucky to have found Empire Lock. Last week I was in need of a package that had been jammed into my mailbox by the post office. My first instinct was to smash out the lock myself, but Empire took a much more reasonable approach to the situation. They managed to open the lock, without damaging it.They could have easily charged me more for the process but instead just charged me for a 'lock out.' I got my package, didn't have to replace the lock mechanism, and had such a pleasant experience. I should also mention that they rushed the job for me and had it done within 30 min of me calling them.Thank you so much for your help. Empire is my new lock company!!!

I called Empire Lock to get some locks installed in my new head shop Sunflower Glass Company. The guy did a good job and I bought some parts so I could install one of the locks myself. He told me they would cost 22 but he charged me 35, he also forgot to give me a receipt. I am sure it was an accident but when I called they got angry at me and would not listen, they told me to quit smoking, they said I was acting like a girl and when I continued to try and argue my point I was threatened point blank. I called back later they just kept repeating their insults even though I was not insulting them. I dont know about you but being a business owner I dont like being threatened by a locksmith. The other issue I have is that they charge by the job. It is better to call someone who charges by the hour. In my case the guy knocked out the job in 30 minutes for 125 labor and then called it a day. I would have much rather paid a guy by the hour to get all of the work done I needed. If you dont like being insulted and threatened by someone youre paying good money to, go somewhere else.

I called at 7:30 am on a friday and some lady answered. Today actually. She took my infotmation and said it should take about an hour for the locksmith to arrive. Seemed kinda long because they are 4 blocks away but whatever. An hour goes by and nothing. I call back and she just hangs the phone up. Then i call back and some guy answers the phone and throughout the conversation he asks me about my address and how to spell it like 4 times. After the 4th time i got fed up and called M&D locksmith also in the area. I gove them one star because if it wasnt for thier terrible service i wouldnt have learned about M&D.

I wish I could leave a '0' stars. They do not warranty any of their work. They keyed several cylinders for us and many of them have failed. tenants have called locksmiths to unlock for them and we have to pick up the bill.
