The folks at Hector's Hardware are always knowledgeable about their inventory and very helpful in finding the appropriate tool or part for one's needs. A very highly recommended local hardware store that has reasonable prices and is great for repairwork aswell.

Absolutely rudest group of people ever experienced in my life. Took them 3 weeks to clean a carb for a lawn mower. Then charged me 50$ to pick it up. I could of bought a new one off the internet for 18.99. Just go 3 miles down the road to the other hectors or a real small motor mechanic. The blond hair woman with tattoos us THE WORST.

The girl working the front counter was too busy getting hit, on to cash people out. She saw me standing at the counter waiting to cash out and she said 'is there anything I can help you with?' She took my money and didn't give me my change after asking for it out of her hand. She rolled her eyes and was completely rude. On top of that, I came in for corner braces and they were extremely overpriced. I wouldn't have gotten them if I didn't want to drive all over town to another hardware store . Not coming hack here again. Not worth it for a local business

Yes they are very helpful. They even sell masks but refuse to wear them. In this difficult time they are putting their customers at risk. This tells me they have little or no concern for their customers health.

Took my one year old snow blower there because I couldnt get it started. They fixed the issue, then did an additional tuneup without consulting me first. Also told me they could pick it up and drop it off without telling me it was an additional $50. I get paying for that convenience, but I live less than two miles from the store. Anyway, $220 later the snowblower works but Im never taking anything here again.UPDATE!!While I appreciate the response from the owner Id just like to let everyone know that this Saturday (the first time I needed to use the snow blower all year) it again wouldnt start. I called and was told to call back Monday because there were no small engine mechanics there at that time.I look forward to speaking with Russ on Monday about my full and immediate refund.

The clerk seemed as if I was inconveniencing him with my inquiries. I've always had good experiences at different Hector's. This particular clerk was borderline rude.

I went there for an obscure furnace filter that no one else carried. The clerk was very helpful and even though they didn't have this filter in stock, he offered to order a case for me. I told him I would let him know. I could get lost in that store as I love hardware stores. They have everything. I only have one ' bone to pick' with them. There wasn't any handicapped parking and in addition there was no cutout in the high curb in front of the store to get in. I had a problem but was able to handle it. If someone is in a wheelchair, forget it!

Hector's is great! I had a lawnmower fixed there and ran into problems with it again the following season and they fixed it again free of charge. It's not that I wanted anything for free, but it is very nice to see a company stand by there work. I would highly recommend this establishment. The customer service is also top notch! Russ the manager and Rachel both went out of their way to ensure that I was taken care of and they did so in a very friendly manner.

I have been going to this store for years now and have always been completely satisfied. the windows and screens are reasonably priced, and the repairs are phenomenal, I will never go to another hardware store, my machinery has never worked better. Plus the staff is super nice as well as knowledgeable, the manager puts the place on the map, do yourself a favor and go to this location, the manager can answer any question you could ever possibly have.

Horrible customer service! Had same issue with them last year, but I figured I'd give them a 2nd chance. Nope! Nothing changed! Needed help with making sure I was getting a right part, guy wouldn't even get up from his perch to help me. Pointed to isle and said down there. Never go there if you're a lady, felt very belittled and treated me like I was an idiot. Will NEVER give them my business again or suggest to friends or family. They must of had family members or paid people to post the positive reviews they do have up on here. Should of listened to my husband and went to Home Depot.

Had 4 keys made and not one of them worked. Went to return them and since I couldn't find the receipt, I figured I would just get store credit. That was fine with me. I had bought all decorative keys. One was $3.29 and the other three were $4.95. prices are clearly marked on the stands they are displayed on. Owner would only give me the price for the cheaper key for all 4 keys. He said I couldn't prove what I paid for them even though the prices are right on them. I received $13 in store credit instead of the $21 I had paid for them. Obviously I didn't get more keys. Used up the $13 and will never give another dime to that crooked owner. Very shady business. Either make sure you keep your receipt or go to Valu. I'm going to Valu from now on.

Forget other Hardware stores, this is the store you need to go to, I had a mower that needed to be fixed, and at first I took it to other repair shops, where they told me to just buy a new machine, I was on a budget so I couldn't, but when I took it to Hectors the manager told me that he had no clue why the other shops said to scrap it because it only needed one part...ONE PART, I couldn't believe it but it was true and I got to pick up my mower two days later for a price that was well within what I had to spend, and it runs perfectly. I will never go anywhere else, Thank You Hectors Hardware!

Always prefer to support a locally owned, independent business, but had to stop frequenting Hectors. I can't speak for the other locations, but the Depew location has very condescending staff ( not everyone) who get very annoyed if asked any questions about a product or service. Go to Ed Young in Williamsville instead!

You can not get Toro service ..... hours of getting answers to problem hit or miss. I went to Hectors for a part (primer bulb) after 5 visits to store was told by a young lady that I would have to talk to service man who is never there or has such weird hours that you can never catch him. For a five dollar part-------- I spent more than that in gas.

This places has horrible customer service. This was the second time I have now decided to get keys made there and this is the second time they have messed up. I thought ok maybe the first time was a mistake. No how do you make 2 keys the exact same? When the customer gives you 2 different keys and says I need these 2 keys made. And you make one key twice. I gave you both keys.... plus you made me wait when there was no one in the store like really... I will never go there again.
