Not actually 24 hours, like it says on giant letters outside the door. I dropped my keys off to get copies made, and then came back for them about an hour later, only to find them closed for the weekend. They wouldnt send anyone to give me my keys back, and didnt seem to care that I was locked out of my apartment with movers. They did, however, offer a $200 emergency unlock service. Yay.

Not Recommended.. They say the price starts at $15, and maybe $50 depending on what equipment they use.. To open a car door..He took 5 minutes, and charged me $206, This is ridiculous... And is Scam..

I too, had a great experience with SOS. They upgraded the locks for both my business, and home residences. The staff, Im glad to say are both friendly & knowledgeable, so they were a great at helping us find the best option to suit our specific needs. We now boast a touchscreen keypad that allows us to nix traditional keys. Makes life so much easier, and their 24hrs services are such a comfort. I recommend them to all my friends.

I would not reccomend this company to anyone. I had been told a starting price over the phone of $50 (for an easy job) and when technician came he quoted us $195 dollars. Completely ridiculous for a literally 5 minute job! The technician was very argumentative and unprofessional. Even the customer service person was quite rude. Please save your money and go elsewhere for locksmith services.

The gentleman who came to my apartment was fast and worked quickly to solve my problem, but it's a little on the expensive side, after speaking with sevral people who have hired a locksmith before I feel I was taken advantage of on the what I was charged. I suggest getting a quote in writing from them with all the details.

Sunny did an excellent job of replacing my door knob and lock-set to look more like the original in our pre-war co-op-- he put up with my exacting standards very cheerfully and guided me to a a good value selection of quality hardware. When so many other companies did not call me back or never produced a proposal Sunny was reliable and very pleasant to work with. Highly recommend him!

Do NOT USE! Dangerous and a SCAM! Showed up an hour after they said they would arrive. Quoted us to drill through the lock and said that was the only way, we asked them to swipe the side of the lock instead so it does not cause damage - took him two seconds to swipe in, but he still wanted the full price for drilling through the door. If he had his way he would have drilled the lock and ruined it all but made even more money. We talked to the owner after that and he said we should have gotten a price break down and invoice, which we did not. They have no clear price policy and kept changing their story. DO NOT USE. I would have been scared to be alone with the guy who came, even with my husband there I was nervous - the guy who came relied on intimidation standing in the doorway to get even more money. We ignored the reviews but should not have. Call literally anyone else. Dangerous and a SCAM. Someone needs to record them and take them to court.

Tell you on the phone it's $15 to unlock a bedroom door then the guy shows up says he can't do it but for $180 he'll take the door off, told him no then he had a solution for $35 which is the same thing he should have done for the original quote of $15. Use anybody but these joker's

They made some keys for me, and the copy actually works better than the original! A small shop, but lots to offer & such an important resource! Locally-owned, store has been there for many years, providing a great service... no muss no fuss. A great contrast to the giant mega stores taking over the area! Definitely recommend this place.

I came to SOS locksmith to copy my keys and was thoroughly impressed by the operation at SOS locksmith. Guy (the owner / operator of the store) really runs a full fledged security business and can give you excellent advice on security and keeping things safe.As a previous reviewer said - this is a completely honest locksmith. They charge very fairly and service is great. I highly recommend SOS locksmith for all of your security needs.

They are absolutely terrible . Do not call them at any cost . You are better off asking any other locksmith . I overlooked the existing reviews and still reached out to them and had an awful experience . The technician did not show up after an hour of waiting. So we called again and someone called Tomar shows up . Says the only way in is by drilling and it would cost $187. We objected , called our super and got him to try just opening the door from the side . Tomar hears that and immediatly swipes the door open and demanded the same $187 . We had a long argument and Eventually were bullied into paying $187 by Tomar and someone called Sunny ( who Tomar told us was the owner ) who got on the phone and argued that $187 has to be paid . So , they lied . And they collaborate on lies And bully their customers . Again, please do not reach out to them . Go to any other locksmith but not them .

Needed a car valet key copied, not an emergency, called several hardware stores but they dont do car keys. Called one locksmith and they wanted $130-$330 to come copy it. Finally I called SOS Locksmith, they had a blank key that matched my valet key and cut me a new one for basically nothing. Definitely give these honest guys your business! They were super helpful on the phone and when I came in.

Going in-store was much quicker, cheaper, and a better experience, if you need to get your keys cut faster. They 35 rekeyed locks on the doors. On arrival claimed that my door could only be opened by ripping it apart. It's a standard lock, nothing crazy, and I believe it easily could have been picked. This cost me $300, and he started drilling before I had a chance to discuss. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to call a non-scammy locksmith. Then he couldn't take a card or a check. It was just assumed I had $300 in cash on me, which is absurd. He walked me to an ATM and got the money that way, which was embarrassing. I looked it up after the fact, and certainly got scammed.

If you are going to hire them for an install specifically an electronic lock, you must make sure they give you instructions with any codes needed to make any changes. We had several locks electronic locks installed. During periodic changing of the codes, we realized they changed the command codes making it impossible for us to change the combinations with paying them to make the changes.

AVOID IF POSSIBLE!! Do not come here for key copies. I work in the neighborhood and spent over 2 hours walking back and forth to this place after 3 failed attempts at making a copy. When I argued for a refund the manager insisted on trying again. Those keys didn't work either and I left with nothing but wasted time. There are plenty of other locksmiths/key machines in this area that have never let me down. There's even another one right on the corner. I will never come back here.

This store is a joke. Bought a Mul-t-lock MT5 system from them several years back. Im now in need of extra keys. Theyve made it so that I can only buy an extra set of keys from their store (at double the price) - and no other locksmith. Massive inconvenience, as I now live an hour away. Let me explain ... To make copies of a Mul-t-lock key, you must provide the locksmith with a card, which essentially gives them the details needed to copy your key. What SOS did was, lock the card so that no other locksmith can read it. This forces the customer to have to buy from them.I spoke to 2 local locksmiths who agreed this is bad practice. Mul-t-lock MT5 key copies should cost $15-17/key. Just called SOS - theyre looking to charge $30-35/key.

Super fast and efficient lock out service from these guys!I first met Kenny while assisting a new neighbor in my condo building, as my neighbor had locked himself out of his unit, left his cell and wallet in the condo. Kenny arrived and within a couple of minutes he was able to open the unit door.Several months later, as I was moving out right around Thanksgiving...I locked myself out and remembered SOS Locksmith. I left a message for someone to call me back and Kenny came once again to the rescue :D He was super fast and friendly guys. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I got told over the phone its $15 for a service call plus $30 to pick the lock at the front door. The guy said hed email me a receipt but didnt, and charged me $189.99. Please avoid at all cost, These guys are scam artists.

After a miscommunication (entirely my own fault, I'll add) about how many key replicas I needed to get cut, I ended up with two more than necessary. When I notified the staff member on duty, he was kind enough to charge me only for what I'd meant to order, and let me keep the extra keys free of charge. Great little shop. SOS helped me rebuild a mortise lock by selling me parts and giving me advice rather than trying to sell their professional service. When I had to bring back the cylinder because of an incompatible cam, they happily switched it out for the right one, for free, on the spot.This is how you get a repeat customer.

I've used quite a few vehicle.unlock places now for a barebones unlock, put the inflatable in, use the hook to pop. Takes 3 minutes roughly. 15 dollar service and depending on degree of difficulty 35 and up surcharge. They charge me 110 dollar surcharge for 3 minutes when every other company is charging 1/3rd to half that price. Not even an exaggeration. Criminals.

In particular, this most recent time when my office front door was accidentally locked by our cleaning service, I had an urgent need to let a customer in. I am very happy with the service that I got at SOS. Guy, who runs the shop, was very nice, communicated with me and helped with my particular situation. One of the Technicians, Donovan, came up to Harlem and retrofitted my old apartment door with a Medico deadbolt. It was not cheap, but they were upfront about cost from the beginning and I got a quality lock with great service. I enjoyed working with SOS and will use them again!

Simon showed up in less than 25 minutes and to say he went above and beyond, would be an understatement Simon did everything he could in a 90 degrees plus NYC hallway .when he left on a Saturday less than 1 hour after I called I was back in the home in cool AC. I needed to make 2 different sets of keys for my boutique PT studio right away. I had previously made the same 2 set of keys on 3 different locksmiths. Unfortunately none of those new set of keys could unlock my studio-office door in the past! What! Really!? So I began searching today for the best locksmith that I can count on and I think I found them on my first try. I am elated for this simple thing, i know, I had to write about it! I hope they continue to excel in their services and provide with great customer service as provided to me today! I will write another review when I shop for more items for my business in the future.
