There are some really helpful staff here, and there are some really rude people here. Ultimately though, the place is just really expensive. The same part that at HD or Lowes costs $10 costs $5 here. Add to that they only stock 1 or 2 of most items means you may not find what you need, but you will definitely pay 2x as much.

Those guys know what they're doing. Super friendly, super helpful. Great staff, great shopping experience. A full service establishment, they even carry the heavy things out to the car for you. And the owner's dog is the best. Go Dexter!

What can one say about a hardware store? Good selections, staff are helpful,well some if them, prices ok. A close stop 4 me when I need a nut,screw or small item saves me a trip 2 a box box store..happy it's there

Best hardware selection around .little more pricier than tractor supply but they have all the unique size bolts for the weird old stuff I work on . Same goes for bearings,springs,orings ,etc.

I love this place due to their kind staff, and wide selection of inventory. I recently had a negative experience when trying to return a product. I had lost my receipt and a young lady who i believe goes by the name of Latasha was extremely rude to me. I was hassled for about 15 minutes before giving up and just leaving. This is the second time i have gone in there to be treated poorly by her, as well as my wife. All the other employees there are extremely kind and knowledgeable, especially the youngin back in their hardware department who i believe is Andy. I hope she learns to do her due respects to those who don't deserve to be treated the way she does.

Stopped in here this evening to get ideas and equipment to mount a few things to my dock. As soon as I walked in, the cashier asked if I needed help with anything. He pointed me to a guy who worked in the hardware section. I explained to the employee what I wanted to do. He came up with ideas, walked me around, and picked out the different brackets, nuts and bolts that I needed for my job, and explained to me how to install everything. The staff here are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, the customer service is phenomenal, and they know their stock inside and out.

Pleasant customer service is hard to find.....As a small business owner myself and world traveler, I comment on it the unfortunately few times I see it. I saw it at Brett's True Value Sat March 11, 2017. I was immediately greeted - sincerely like family not overly pushy - upon entering the store and said good bye to when I left. An associate escorted me to the aisle of the products I needed and talked about several in a non-pushy way. I did not make a purchase and did not feel pressured into.The associates who treated me so well were millennials - I can't think of a time when a person in sales who is under the age thirty caught me eye in a good way. Way to go, Tru Value!And when I called the manager on duty (Steve, the owner of the store) and offered to tip the two, he suggested I give the money to charity (what a nice guy!)If you are in the Hudson Valley and want to support a quality small business with great staff - go to this hardware store.

I've shopped here a few times and was shocked when I was recently there and the owner approach a former employee and ask him to 'leave his store.' Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've seen the owners treat their employees in a very demeaning manner and decided to take my business else where from now on.
