We bought a new gun safe from these guys last month. It was our first gun safe purchase and to be honest had no idea what we needed. The team at Houston Safe and Lock were amazing. They walked us through all the different gun safes they had in their shop (so many!) and helped us find the best fit for our family needs. At some point we will need a second safe and when we do, we will absolutely be coming back to these guys.

I have needed locksmiths in Houston several times over the last few years for my business. It's usually a really stressful affair and something that I don't enjoy. That said, last week when I called Houston Safe and Lock, they were fantastic at getting to me on time. The issue was resolved in minutes and the technician was a really great guy. Needed a white glove safe delivery and installation at our new business premises. Phoned around and Houston Safe and Lock were able to accommodate us at the time we needed them and for the best price. Most safe moving companies are unreliable and charge far too much because they know you're desperate. Not these guys. Helpful, reliable and trustworthy. Won't go anywhere else when we next need help with safe moving. Can't recommend highly enough!

Do not hire these guys to move your gun safe. I came in and talked with Roland and explained the type of safe I had and where I needed it to be placed and anchored. He was very knowledgeable and assured me that they do this everyday and they have the expertise, supplies, and experience to get it done. I advised them that my safe was big, bulky, and heavy. He said no problem, they will send 3 guys, it was scheduled for Saturday morning. When they showed up, it was 2 guys; I asked him where the 3rd person was and he said, it's just us. I let them know I specifically asked for 3 people because of the size and weight of the safe. Immediately, one guy said, 'oh no, if it's too heavy, we need to charge you more.' He didn't even ask me to show him the safe and where I needed the safe to be moved. I had to give him my thoughts on how to get the safe into its final resting spot, he said this was not possible. I told him I know it would be difficult and I was very transparent about this when speaking with Roland at the office. He said he didn't have any tools, all they brought was a dolly and a pallet jack. How is it that my safe can barely clear the space I need it to go and you expect to move it with a pallet jack? How is this a professional safe moving company? They left without lifting a finger and I was charged an $85 trip charge. I called Moore Security and Josh was a true professional. He got it done, cleaned up after himself, and is a true safe expert.

I am a part owner of 5Central restaurant in the upper Kirby and we needed to change and rekey all locks on a Saturday morning. I called before hours and talked with the owner Freddie. He was courtesy and efficient in his handling of my problem. 1 hour later the tech Vinnie showed up and was prepared to work. We walked the building together and he gave me choices on how to repair. In the end he rekeyed 17 locks and changed dead bolts on 2 others. The burglar bars were scraping the building and he grinding the down so the gate closes smoothly.It was a great experience with the locksmith vinnie and I will surely recommend him and the company to others.

At first they were happy to take your money when you bought a safe. But when they install it, they rip you off and do it improperly so when you go to move, you have to call them to cut your screws. I have movers coming who would move the safe for me along with the whole house and went to unscrew the bolts, but they just keep twisting because they did not do it the right way the first time. Then I called them to tell them about it and they want to charge me 250 for the first hour only, again to have them come out and cut the bolts. I would do it myself but I don't have the proper tools and risk the safe falling on me.They do this on purpose because if they did it right the first time, anyone could remove the bolts.Complete lack of integrity.

We have been customers for about 10 years. Yesterday however we got even better service than usual. We hit the jackpot when they sent us Vinnie. Let's be honest not all locksmiths are clean cut and super polite, and that's Ok. You just want your locks done right. But Vinnie, was as clean cut and super polite as a 5-star hotel manager. He was respectful, he listened, presented a solution and asked for our feedback. Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing guy! We now will only request Vinnie when we need more locksmith work. Back then, I lost my key and got locked out. I called Houston S Lock to see if they could dispatch anyone to come out on the same day to rekey the door lock. The locksmith- Vinnie Duong, arrived within 15 minutes and helped me out. He's solved the problem super fast, very professionally with reasonable price. These guys published a bump key video to the internet to create a feeling of insecurity across Houston.. they obviously took all but one tumbler out of each lock to make it look super easy, and make everyone freaked out about bump keys.... I'm a locksmith, and while it's sometimes fairly easy to bump a lock, they completely over exaggerated the simplicity and ease in order to freak everyone out and drum up business for more expensive locks they can sell. Now the video is circulating the internet and creating a very false understanding of how easy it is to bump a lock. Even the TV reporter made it look easy, acknowledging he had never done it before that day. I would never start with bumping to give you an idea of how easy it is.. only if it doesn't pick, do I resort to bumping.. Take down the video and I'll remove the review.

I had a car key issue. My car would start some of the time. I thought that the key transponder, or whatever it is called, was not working. So I took my keys to Houston Safe and Lock and asked them what they thought might be the issue. After looking at the car key the service technician suggested that I check the starter connection. Sure enough, the starter connection was loose. After tightening that up the car started right up. Thanks guys for saving me time and money.

Basically ya'll...if ya'll want bad customer service then go to these guys. Yes they got the job done but good customer service goes a long way. Went to their business shop and the cashier at the front was ok...not rude. But when the 'technician' David arrived to my place to open my car door, he was very rude. Seemed like we were asking him for a favor. I am a paying customer paying for a service and with that I expect to be treated as a paying customer and not as someone bugging people for free favors. Houston Safe and Lock needs to fire David just on the mere poor customer service he delivers. Rude, bad disposition, almost angry at me that I came to seek their services. The technician was very rude from the onset. Yes he opened my car door quickly and I got my keys but doesn't mean that it's ok for the technician to be rude either. It is a business that is being run, ergo, you want to welcome people, customers to your business and treat them well. Well, after David the technician openend my door he proceeded to write up the invoice and take my credit card details. Told the guy very nicely that he was typing in an amount greater than the fee for the job, to which he replied angrily that he hadn't gotten to that part yet when clearly I saw him put another amount. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he did that unintentionally but he could of easily simply sad, ' I'm sorry, my mistake, I'll fix it shortly'. Just sheer absence of customer-relations skills. That technician needs to be instructed on being a little more amicable and friendly towards customers at the very least. Anyways...ultimate price to pay is Houston Safe and Lock's to pay. So as long as they don't address issues like this people will be driven to other competitors. Take it with a grain of salt if you like Houston Safe and Lock, but customers are yours to either be gained or lost. You pick...but I will go to your other competitors next time. Good luck.

I called to inquire about having a lock changed. I asked how much changing the lock and two keys would cost. They said they would not be able to know the estimate until looking at the lock, which I totally understand. They said they could give me a better estimate by telling them the numbers on the key. I gave them the numbers and they gave me an estimate including a $65 service fee. They were promptly at my door within 60 minutes. The locksmith looked at the lock and said it was not the lock they expected and it would cost more. He left, my employee told me the news, and she informed me to call him. I called the business back and stated that I would have to look into other options and I would call back. 2 hours later the technician arrived at my door asking for the $65 service fee. $65 service fee!? For what?! Driving a mile to look at my door to tell me that it's going to totally different cost.

I contacted this company to transport a gun safe from my apartment to a storage facility prior to my home purchase. The delivery personnel seemed adequate but I quickly realized it was turning into amateur hour. The safe had minor damage to the paint once it was out of the apartment. As I began to have a conversation with the lead crewman about repairs one of the assistants informed me that it will 'just buff out' and that I didn't know what I was talking about. With the obvious deep scratches down to the bare metal and paint flaking it will be impossible to do so. Once the move had been completed I asked if there would be a discount due to the damage. I was given a $25 reduction in a $500 transport cost. However, I contacted the owner shortly after and inquired about my touch up paint that was to sent to me (my 1st attempt with another employee was unsuccessful). He promised to check and have it delivered ASAP to my new home address. Needless to say... almost four months later and after several inquiries about the paint, I have yet to ever receive it. From my experience, find another company to transport your valuable gun safe and with a reputable company that will stand behind any errors or damage they may cause. This company doesn't understand the meaning of doing what it takes to help the customer.

I had a creepy neighbor move in next door so so called houston locksmith for help. Fast response. Excellent service, courtesy and knowledge. Showed me several options of .high security locks including the medeco brand deadbolts with key control, bump and pick proof . my wife and i sleep much better now. I went to the brick and mortar location on westheimer rd sw houston to look at the gun safes and i was shocked to see so many different types of gun ssfes, jewelry safes and fire safes, all different kinds of new and used safes. I made an appointment with these guys today and had such great service-i wanted to leave them a great review. I recently just purchased a new home and needed my whole house rekeyed. They came out promptly and were extremely professional. I learned what high security locks were. I never even knew key control like this existed. Basically how it works is you give your key to the cleaning lady, a nanny, your brother or sister, mother in law, whom ever! they cannot make a duplicate of my key with out authorization. also meaning, if any of these people were to lose my key or have it stolen.. no one else could get in to my house either. What..!??! When the tech came out to my house he showed me a video of people bumping locks which just absolutely mortified me being at home with a new baby and all. I am so glad I called this company, I am a very pleased customer & plan on letting everyone i know about high security locks! they also have safes, tons of safes for every need. I will be back for a safe soon!
