American Lock & Key was awesome. The tech was very good on informing me of the common issues the make of my car has with keys and locks. The price was very good compared to what I was quoted at the dealership. I really like that they have a very simple and (in my professional opinion) effective screening process for customers entering during the COVID-19 pandemic. The service took less time than its taking me to write this review! Ill definitely return for their services if and when needed.

Fantastic locksmith service! I was in the market for a duplicate truck key and stopped in to get one cut thinking that I'd have to get it programmed at the dealership, but they said they could program it there for less! Josh came out to my truck and hooked up a machine and after about ten minutes my Ford truck now has three working keys! They were super professional and tested the keys. They even cut and programmed the blank I bought on eBay for only five extra bucks! Saved me at least 200 bucks compared to what the dealer was going to charge. I'll definitely be going here for any locksmith needs I have. Awesome Richmond business, definitely worth checking them out.

Called to see prices to program and cut a couple keys for my Dodge Ram and spoke with David, he quoted me and was quite knowledgeable. Told me to come in no appointment needed and was greeted as I walked in and they had my keys programmed and cut and on my way in 15 mins. Awesome service and definitely recommend and will use them again for sure! Thanks

Wow, David was just Great. He did 2 locks for me, and even went a little further. He fixed my second doorknob latch so when I closed my door it would catch. It had been faulty for YEARS, thanks David. I would also like to say that I was in a bind last night, my key would not go into lock. I tried it upside down and upward, but still would not go in. So I called American Lock and key again, and my hero came to the rescue even though they were short of help this day. He adjusted it and now it's fine. He was so professional, kind, very prompt and knowledgeable about his work. He is an asset to this company, great job David. Keep up the GOOD Work and service you give out to all of us.... David and co was very helpful on the phone and it turns out they had a Toyota Highlander key fob in stock! They were able to re-program a new key fob in a matter of minutes and physically cut the door entry key for emergencies. All for way less in cost than the dealership! They also ordered a key fob for my other vehicle thats 18 years old! They know their stuff and take pride in their business.

Lost the key last FOB to my car (bought used, 1 key) I called the dealership, and they quoted more for the key alone - not including programming, cutting, and towing - than American Lock and Key charged to come to my apartment and cut me a Key and program the FOB required to start the car. They came less than 2 hours after I called - the dealer wanted me to schedule an appointment. I ended up saving over $300 with American Lock & Key. Not to mention, the locksmith was friendly as can be.I will recommend them to anyone. Awesome service, awesome product, awesome price. What more do you want?

Great experience ! I would recommend to anyone ! my husband's key broke off in his ignition and the dealership wanted to charge us $700 to replace the ignition instead of removing the key we were able to remove the key ourselves we called american lock and key and they were able to replace the key for us on the spot for $26 they saved us a ton of money and did a wonderful job thank you for the team at lock and key.

(Little David), and he walked me through the troubleshooting steps so that I was able to correct the problem myself! This is TRUE customer service and valuing the customer!! Lost one of the keys to my families main vehicle so it was a huge inconvenience and one of the keys to my other vehicles had a key that was slowly dying so looked into replacing keys and American Lock & Key were perfect. Showed up and was immediately helped by the young man at the front desk was in and out with new keys and clickers in a little over 30 minutes. The technician sent to me was not only rude and racist toward me, but my spouse as well. When he initially came, he had an attitude. I offered him water and he ignored me. Took him 2 1/2 hours to unlock my car. Granted, he may have been frustrated, but this is his job. When my spouse asked if he was okay, he immediately began arguing with her. I asked her to stop, and he responded, verbatim, yes little girl, shut up. Little did he know, she was recording the entire time! Fair price, horrible customer service Mr. Wilson!Oh and to top it off, every time I spoke with him on the phone, he hung up on me and DRAINED my brand new car battery! Then had the audacity to say, I tried to jump it for a hour but its raining. I appreciate the effort, however I just brought the battery TWO weeks ago! Its brand new! He even asked me before he started if my battery was new!

They cut and programmed a new key for my '09 Subaru Forester. They has warned me that aftermarket keys are hit and miss with the programming, but if it didn't work then I am not liable for the ruined ($30) key blank. It worked great, was cheaper than the dealership and only took 10 minutes. Highly recommend.

First of all, American Lock & Key did NOT pay me for this review. They earned it with good old fashioned customer service, honesty and integrity. My key FOB for my car stopped working. I went to McGeorge Ford and they told me that the only way they could fix it would be to replace the key for almost $400.00! I went in to American Lock and Key, and they sold me a secondary device that took the place of my key FOB for just $15.00. They saved me $385.00! Even a replacement key would have been around $175.00 I think. The point is, they could have sold me an expensive key but they realize that great customer service, honesty and integrity wins over customers in the long term. They will get my return business!

I lost my car and house keys while on a trip cross country. I went to a dealer in another state to have a laser cut key made from my vehicle VIN. I paid major $$$ for a basic key (no fob/programming) so that I could get back into my vehicle at the airport and drive the 2+ hours home. I got to my car and this very expensive dealer made key did not work!! I had to rent a car to drive home and then return the next day with my secondary key. I searched for local car dealers who can make keys on site and found a listing for American Lock & Key and that they make AUTO keys. I talked to Max who positively assured me that he can make me a key, not charge me a fortune and that it will 100% work!!! I went in and spent less than 10 minutes and had a total of 4 keys made for way less than the price I paid the dealer for 1 key! Max even mapped the key I purchased from the dealer and came back with a completely different code than the one my VIN gives to make a duplicate. I had no idea that my laser cut key, basic or fob/programmed, could be made by anyone other than the dealer and the dealer certainly wont tell you that either. American Lock & Key is awesome, fast, courteous and very affordable. You wont be disappointed with them!!!

I went in to American Lock and Key yesterday with two different car keys that I needed spares for, unsure if it would even be possible for someone other than the dealer to make them for me. I walked out 20 min later with two new keys for about 30% of what the dealer quoted! Great customer service AND they know what theyre doing!

A quick 'phone call to American Lock and Key company, and almost before I knew it, a wonderful, efficient, meticulous, pleasant technician was at my door. He worked quickly, made necessary modifications of the existing doors, locks, and keys, put in new deadbolt locks with tumblers to fit my existing house key, double-checked the fit, feel, and ease of all locks. Cleaned up perfectly behind himself. And by two hours from my first contact to his completion, I had four good, well-working locks, doors that were hanging better, and renewed security. I cannot overstate my praise for this superlative service.

Great customer service from the first phone call. I had a new fob I bought on my own to be programmed. Every other place I called, including the dealership, gave me such a hard time about not buying it though them. Everyone else told me it wouldn't work but these guys never said that and provided fast service. I was able to walk right in and was out in a reasonable time at a reasonable price. Recently had some after market keys cut for 03 Honda Accord, and I was shocked on the price to have the keys cut. Normally I hear rates for $100 or more to just cut key and not programming it, however it was only $30.00 to have already programmed keys. This place was a life saver.
