Zip Locksmith sent a contractor in an unmarked white van to our house to replace our locks. The contractor was unprofessional, rude and threatening. The contractor stole our silver faceplate and lock and replaced both with non matching gold. When questioned about the problem the contractor told us he would keep our original set and leave us without locks for the night. We refused to sign off on the work. Zip Locksmith billed us almost $400 anyway. We refused payment. After 2 months Zip Locksmith re-billed our credit card for this fraudulent work.

TLDR; Expensive for what I needed (I was locked out of my car) and the wait time was far too long. I gave one star only because the person helping me was friendly and worked efficiently. I locked myself out of my car for the first time today, and called the nearest locksmith. The majority of the reviews are positive regarding the amount of time it takes from the initial call being made and for the cost of service so I felt that this would be the best bet.Unfortunately, after calling I waited over fifteen minutes without hearing anything back confirming someone was on their way, so I called again. I was told someone was headed my direction and then I received a call ten minutes later from a different number and this person said the driver wasn't able to contact me somehow, but I let them know I had no missed calls. A couple minutes later the actual locksmith called me and said he'd be there in 20-30 minutes. I called him half an hour later and he said he was still on his way, and I honestly wonder why it took so long when the location I called was literally five minutes away on google maps. I understand he may have been dispatched from elsewhere, but regardless that's a long time. I called this locksmith specifically because it was so close to my location. If I had been in a more concerning situation on the roadside and not in a parking lot, or if it had been dark or raining outside, it would have been incredibly inconvenient. The total time from my first call to his arrival was an 1 hour and 6 minutes. I was charged over $150 to open the door of my nearly 20 year old car, which is not at all a high tech car, and I was pretty surprised!The upside was that the locksmith helping me worked quickly, and opened the door with no issue. He was also friendly so good customer service on his part. That being said I do NOT recommend this locksmith unless you have time to spare and no issues spending over $150 to have a door opened.

Fortunately my location was between the technicians stops so he was able to squeeze my call in between. (He arrived less than five minutes after I called their office.) The company charges a standard 'service charge' just to have a technician show up. This the first time that I have had to pay two separate amounts when making this type of call. Then the 'technician' (possibly independent contractor) makes up an absurdly high fee for the actual work performed after confirmation that the home office has not already quoted a rate. A 10% (that is 'not really a tax' discount is offered for cash payment vs. credit/debit (traceable) transaction. Filling out the paperwork and running card took longer than opening my car door.

My rental home needed new locks. The tenant told me that the locks were not working properly, so I had her ring up a local locksmith to take care of the issue. Their locksmith gave us a reasonable appraisal so I had him do the job, and all is well now. The tenant is happy, and as a result, so am I. All in all, I had a good experience and would happily use them again.

I locked myself out of my apartment and called Zip Locksmith. While I did get inside, communication wasn't great. I waited 30-40 minutes longer than I was told, even though I was told they were nearby and they kept calling to tell me they would be there soon, which isn't helpful when you aren't actually going to be there soon. I was quoted a range on the phone, and ended up being charged the max of the range, after the person told me I had one of the easiest types of doors/locks to unlock. It took a minute or two, which was great, but I felt severely over charged, and then was asked if I wanted to give a tip. Happy to be back inside, but unhappy with the cost/communication.
