Steve from STL was great. He said he will come in 15 minutes, he showed up after 10 minutes. I showed him everything I needed. He gave me the best advice. I was also locked out of one of my offices, he opened it easy with no damage. Last locksmith told me he had to drill the lock. Completely not necessary. Steve opened it without damaging the lock for a very reasonable price. Thank you STLfor all your help, I will recommend you guys to all my clients in the future.

Unfortunately, my experience with STL Locksmith was frustrating and disappointing. I received a call 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment that the technician has to run to the dealership to get a fob key. They confused me for another customer.When the technician arrived, I explained what servicing needs to be done and asked him what pricing would be. The technician said it would be an amount that was notably higher than what the company initially quoted with vague description of what would need to be done before he examines the locks. He ends up having difficulty with one of the knobs and does give me a solution that would add more cost in the servicing or another solution that would have me ending up with 2 keys.I called the company to verify this information and to review the pricing. Since I was providing my own knobs/locks, the dispatcher told me the pricing should be lowered as if it was he giving me a discount, but that I would need to talk to the service technician because he a 1099 contractor. At the end of the call I was told if there were further issues that it would be fine to call them back.I readdressed the service technician about the pricing and let him know the nature of the call I had with his company. I was met with great hostility. His behavior was irrationally confrontational and rude, making accusations about how I was trying to go around him and manipulate the situation to pay less for his services. He said that I cant call the company then proceeds to call the owner/manager of the company and place them on speaker. I explained the situation and again, I was met with defensive attitude without giving me a chance to get a word in. With how far along the job was, I decided to move forward with the high pricing.Additionally, the technician came in without a mask or any preventative during COVID-19. While performing the job, he was making personal calls. I am writing this review because this company lacks transparency and professionalism. They do not value their customers and I will not be requesting services from them again.

This company is very very deceptive and not transparent about their prices. I was quoted a $15 service charge and then that the rate can be as low as $35. So $50 plus. After locksmith shows up, he tells me it costs $150. I was given the idea that it wouldnt be too too much more than $50. Very deceptive and not transparent about the costs. Also, dont trust their match price guarantee. They most likely wont budge on their price. Terrible experience. I will never call this company again and I will be sure to tell everyone who needs a locksmith to stay far far away from these people!

Horrible experience!!!!! My husband was out of town and so I tried to take care of a doorknob that was not properly closing before he returned. I made the mistake of calling this company to come and replace an exterior doorknob that was not closing properly. I purchased a doorknob to replace and exterior door that was not closing properly. At 1634 I called this company and spoke to a dispatch operator who quoted a $15 trip fee and stated the price to replace the doorknob started at about $39. I then questioned if the rep would be coming from my area and I was told that a mobile rep would contact me. The mobile rep called @ approximately 10 minutes after I spoke to the dispatch and stated that he would be at our home in about an hour, that was at 1634. At about approximately 1812, the mobile rep shows up at the door in this own personal vehicle to replace the doorknob and he smelled like he had smoked all of the weed in Georgia; which is probably the reason that he arrived almost two hours after the initial call. He was a short, young African American male, he didn't have a business card or anything verifying that he was from STL Locksmith LLC. I showed him the door that was having the problem. He stated that it was not necessary to replace the entire doorknob so he only replaced the strike plate and charged me a total of $90 which included a trip charge of $20!!!!. I told him that I was told the trip fee was $15 and the repair started at $39. I then reminded him that the only thing that he did was replace the strike plate not the entire doorknob. I then went and called the company and told the dispatcher about the price that the mobile rep was quoting me and the price that I had been quoted when I scheduled the appointment. The mobile rep was listening to me while I was on the phone and actually became ANGRY because I questioned the amount he was charging and because I had called the company!!!!!!! He started loudly arguing with me and trying to justify his price for replacing a strike plate for $90. He didn't even know the name of the piece that he was replacing! Rather than continue to argue with him I paid him so that he could just leave! This is the worst experience that I have ever had with any company and I am not even going to mention this to my husband. OMG!!! The entire experience was unreal! !!!!! DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! I wish that I would have read the reviews before I called this company, I would have never called! As far as the joke of a response from the owner, we DID NOT make a mistake in our review of your company. If you look at the times that we mentioned in our review, we stated that your tech came to our home in the evening. We are sure there is someone in your office who can read military time. If you were really interested in discussing this matter, you have our name and phone number so why would you suggest that we call you? We didn't have to call you when it came to your company depositing our $90 charge; so why play games and pretend like you are clueless to our review. We are sure that you know the crook that you sent to our home. We would like to reiterate DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! In addition to being unprofessional and deceptive you are also LIARS!

Update:Owner, Mike, called me to explain the situation and different methods they could've opened my car since the techician did not inform me of them. He apologized for the delay and refunded me over 50% of the amount that I paid.If i could give this company a 0 rating then I would.I had a similar experience as other reviews mentioned. I was told it starts at $50 and the technician called me to tell me he was 20min away. I called 30min later to see if I could get an ETA. He got there 45min later instead of 20 min as previously mentioned.Technician was friendly and upon looking at my car, said it would be $150. I have a basic Honda Accord so i asked why so much? He said in order not to scratch the car.. the service took literally 1 minute. As I was paying I asked why i was told it starts at $50 but I am getting charged $150. He said he doesn't make the rules, he just works for them. Fair enough.I called the main locksmith line and asked why it was almost $100 more and she said the technician makes the evaluation and final call.. but the technician told me it was the actual company and he had no say???Completely blindsided and complete rip off!!STAY AWAY from this company.

Update 9/27/19: The owner contacted me and refunded 50% of the cost. They provided a decent service at a relatively fair price for the work/effort expended. My recommendation is to ask a lot of questions and make sure you know what the charges will be before you have them come out. 9/20/19I cannot even believe that an advertised service that is supposed to start at $15 ended up being $120 because it was after hours. It took him 10 minutes to get here and less than a minute to get in the car. Never again and Ill never recommend this company to anyone.

I've had such a great experience with STL Locksmith,I recently purchased a new house for me and my girls and thinking about our safety I wanted to changed the locks. So I googled Locksmith near me. STL Locksmith were the first on the list with over 450 five star reviews! I checked out other companies in my area too and no one else has that many reviews, not even close! This must be a very busy company. I called them and a dispatcher answered. I told her that I wanted to change the locks in my house and asked for a price. She said that it was hard to know the price because she didn't exactly know what needs to be done, what tools or hardware the tech will need to use and so on. She took my info and said a technician will call me back. Steve called me after 2 minutes and he said he'll have to come over, assess the situation, give me the best advice and also price it right on site. He said that he could be there in 20 minutes. He showed up 25 minutes later and apologized for being late because of the traffic. It was raining really hard. He was so polite.. Anyway, Steve saw all the locks and said that most locksmiths will recommend replacing all the locks so they could make a lot of $$$ but it was not necessary because the locks are in good condition, good quality, works perfectly and all I really needed was to Reykey them. I didn't even know you could do that. I also admired his honesty; Instead of taking advantage of my complete ignorance, he explained everything and offered the best solution, which was cheaper than replacing the locks.Then he asked me something that blew my mind: ' When you got the keys to your new house from the seller, realtor, contractor, whoever.. Were you told that once you use the keys on the locks, the locks will RESET to those keys and no one else will be able to unlock the locks unless they had those keys?'I was surprised because I was told exactly that by the Realtor. Steve said that locks don't work like that. In order to Rekey a lock (unless it's a smart key lock) the pins inside must be replaced. 'Locks don't replace the pins all by themselves,' he said.I later YouTube it and he was correct. I was told a lie by my Realtor. BTW, later on, while working on the locks, Steve said he found 'Master Pins' inside my locks, which means that there was a second key that was able to open my locks. He explained that each lock could be Rekeyed to work with 2 different keys. So for example, each lock could work with a different key, but 1 Master Key would open all of them. The fact that he found Master Pins in my house locks, meant that my entire subdivision was probably working on 1 Master Key. How convenient to whoever built this subdivision.Anyway, Steve Rekeyed all my locks to a brand NEW key that only I had! Feeling safe already. He gave me a very reasonable price, was working very quickly, super professional and overall I'm very happy with his work. I recommend Steve and STL locksmith to everybody who needs a locksmith. Thank you STL and Steve. You guys changed my locks and my life forever.......
