3rd Gen Painting and Remodeling

As Western Springs' #1 rated house painter, we know a thing or two about good paint and excellent customer service. You can certainly find both here at the Village True Value hardware store in Western Springs. The paint department rep is absolutely fantastic. He is always ultra-helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable to boot!Since we are on the topic of paint: they carry most Benjamin Moore Paint products and colors (super convenient for those looking for Benjamin Moore paints near Western Springs). Benjamin Moore's interior paint is great and their exterior paint isn't far behind in our book (Sherwin Williams Superpaint or Duration is still our go-to top exterior paint products). Finally, in terms of deck stain: Woodmans brand is the go-to in terms of any solid stain or semi-solid you'd need to stain your deck if searching for a decent deck stain at this store. As a whole, Cabot has really fallen in quality after their recent acquisition and we will give Arborcoat by Benjamin Moore 'mixed reviews' at best.

Knowledgeable staff, friendly and astute in their suggestions. Most any item neededis stocked with seasonal products upfront. Older world atmosphere makes shoppingtheir friendlier than larger big box emporiums. Reminds me of hardware stores whichI dealt with in the past in Vermont. Friendly staff adds to their appeal. Why driveall over town when the best products are found locally.

I'm a consummate do-it-yourselfer. I come here all the time for parts and advice. Yes, the prices are higher with some products than a big box store, but you won't wander around trying to find an employee to help you. Perfect place for home projects.

Jeff in paint is very knowledgeable very helpful. He was able to match a paint from another brand that wasn't 'able' to be tinted that color. I would recommend them in heart beat.

We are lucky to have a resource like this in town. Before you drive all the way over to one of the 'big box' stores in Hodgkins give Village True Value a try. In my experience the staff here are more knowledgable than the guys in the orange aprons and they are a heck of a lot closer to home.

I was there today for the first time. I needed a part that cost less than $2 and they opened up the box for a $100 tool to make sure it would fit, so that I did not need to make a second trip. You do not see that very often. EXCEPTIONAL.Also there is a review on here from a former employee that I feel should not be there. It says the store is greet but is a bad place to work. What does that have to do with whether it is a good place to shop?

Linda Johnson and her staff are always ready to provide friendly and helpful service. I have purchased all of my lawn mowers and snow blowers and Weber grills for the last 30 years from Linda and her parents. I do not need to travel to a big-box store when we have a place such as this right in town.

Very helpful staff. Much better destination for DIY-types/beginners and homeowners that have questions than going to a big box store like Home Depot. I always feel like they care more about helping me with a project than upselling me on something I don't need, and I don't have to spend 20 minutes hunting a staffperson down to get help.
