The place looks awesome due to the vintage style and the service is impeccable. They have a variety of keys ranging from compound lock keys to the more traditional variety. And when I needed to change the time to after-hours he said sure, why not! I also got to meet the Dad who started the business when he came up to my apartment when there was a small glitch. Super friendly. Only locksmith I've found who can clone both parts of a Schlage iButton key. This clearly isn't just an old fashion locksmith shop - they've kept up with the latest technology. We even had a conversation about computer programming and machine learning.

They were very professional but also friendly, and treated me with both respect and compassion (I had gone to see them after someone had vandalized the deadbolt on my front door).Their work was top notch, and the price fair. I was in a jam and needed a broken key that was jammed in my battery lock to be removed and then have a copy made. I didnt think it was possible but miraculously Phil and Jr. pulled it off. They were able to remove the broken key from the lock and find a match. Amazing.

Wow what an awesome and unique shop. Ive never seen anything like it I would recommend Greenwich Locksmiths to everyone. I drove from Brooklyn to the city for a copy of my buildings clamshell key fob and they made copies in about 3 minutes tops. The shopkeeper was very nice polite and welcoming. I had a copy made of a Keri Access Control Card for my apartment. Philip Jr. was knowledgeable in coping encrypted keys and was nice enough to answer my questions about the process. The key was made for me under 1 minute. I will be coming back for any future keys and I recommend coming here.

Fantastic! These guys know what there doing and are a staple of the neighborhood. On top of professional service at reasonable prices they've made some amazing mozaic art around their shop with keys and locks. Definitely worth a visit for key copying, lock fixing, and smiles.

Was told over the phone that I didn't know what I was talking about. (despite having a run an online key duplication business for years) Mistakenly went in anyway because I needed a key code-cut that day. I was insulted several times, including being told that if 'you were a locksmith you'd use different words' despite me never claiming to have been a locksmith. Stay away and go to one of many locksmiths nearby that cut keys without insults. Safe to say that I won't be returning.EDIT: My phone conversation with him was recorded. It would be a shame if I released it (or sent to news media) because NY is a one-party consent state. Furthermore, I have attached pics of my receipt. It seems to me that a review from his 'competition' might include a more specific recommendation than 'one of many locksmiths' nearby. His original response to this review (posted publicly) referred to me as a 'know it all' [sic] and 'obnoxious'. I sincerely hope that he finds something more worthy his time this holiday season than villifying customers.

I was in a pinch, I had a key fob that was so cryptic all other locksmiths turned me away, then I came across Greenwich Locksmiths, I wasn't sure if I would make their closing time, but when I arrived the owner and his son were very accommodating, they were able to what all the other Locksmiths couldn't and they did it in a flash. I would definitely go back if in need of a key fob or any other of their services, I highly recommend them.

This is a great place to get your key copied; quick, easy, and very affordable. I got one metal key and one electronic key fob duplicated hereit took 4 minutes max. Given that I seldom go to the locksmith, its great to know that Ive found a place with impeccable service that I can rely on for any future needs!

Unbelievably rude on the phone. Refused to listen to my questions. Calmly asked him to stop being so rude and he followed with an insult (which other reviewers have experienced I see). Then he hung up me in the middle of me asking something. People cant see through the phone if youre busy, how dare you take it out on a customer. Would give zero or negative stars if possible. DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.EDIT Cute how the business responded like a child sticking its tongue out and giving the finger. I would take their memory of our conversation with many grains of salt, especially after a weeks time and all the customers theyve had lined up outside the door (which he made sure to mention). And as an almost 40 year old lifelong New Yorker, how dare you assume my upbringing simply because you didnt like what I have to say. You continue to prove the negative and judgmental way you do business. Any New Yorker knows that just because something was here for 40 years still means it could close next week.

Philip is very much a lifesaver! After running around all of TriBeCa trying to find a place that duplicates key fobs I was absolutely fed up with the unorganized and sketchy locksmiths in the area, after coming to Greenwich Locksmiths they were able to get my fob made in less that 30 SECONDS!! Philip was beyond kind and very knowledgeable of his craft. If you EVER need a key made dont waste your time anywhere else come straight here. Absolutely amazing guy

I first came here about nine years ago when I lost the ignition key to my 1987 Volkswagen. I removed the lock, and they were able to make me a key from that. They were the only place I could find with the knowledge and skills to do this. Now this is the only place I'll go for lock and key services--even just for simple copies--because I know the work will always be of the highest quality.
