The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable and the entire process was incredibly smooth. It was a great value and I was also able to make an appointment beforehand for added convenience. I've been coming here since before they moved to the new location behind Best buy. They know their stuff, extremely professional and efficient. Price is reasonable as well. They're always going the extra mile to help me figure out the problem. My car wasn't listed in their database as one they could do but they took the time to check the possibility anyway. They ended up confirmed that they can do it. The replacement key was done in minutes. I'm so grateful. I would have spend 400+ at the dealership if they didn't try to help me. They're just amazing!

They were fantastic when it came to getting a new programmed key for my Lexus. They were also able to cut two new physical keys for my Keyfobs and still came in much lower than the Lexus dealer. Very friendly and efficient!

We needed a key for our new van we bought, new to us that is. It only came with one set. We stopped at Key Harbor in Crabtree Valley behind Barnes and Noble and asked if they could do a key for our van. They were polite and made our key for us. They are really professional when talking to you about what you need. Their prices are very reasonable and from checking with other key places are competitive. They will honor other ads if possible with their business. Thank you Key Harbor for your help with our key needs.

thieves. they cut me a key that didn't match my key. they didn't test the key before they charged me. total rip off. and they told me i couldn't program my own key and i did. for $100 i ordered a smart key online and programmed it. the emergency hey needed to be cut. it is now a useless key. they initially quoted me about $300 for ordering programming and cutting the spare. i did everything including have them cut the spare for $100. and the only part that was done incorrectly was them cutting the spare.

Rude, Rude, Rude...If customer service is KEY then you might stay away from this establishment. I stopped by here 3 weeks ago for a key fob replacement. The sales associate was a young kid who told me they did not have the fob I needed but could order it and it would be there in 2 days. He would call me when it was ready. I work out of town so it wasn't a big deal. Never received a call so here we are three weeks later, I send my boyfriend to pick up the new key fob. He comes home with an empty shell key fob that doesn't work. Mind you they have my old defective key fob. I call up there and an old man answers. Leaves me on hold for 15 mins, comes back and tell me he cannot talk because they are too busy and hangs up. I call back the next day to simply ask why they just gave me an empty shell and kept my old key fob without transferring it over (which is what I paid for). The young man says 'oh we forgot'. That is not acceptable. I paid $75 for my defective key fob to be transferred to the new shell. Then the owner gets on the phone and start screaming at me and just nonchalantly tells me 'oh just bring it back up there' like I live around the corner. These people could care less about quality work. I took the empty shell back today and got it transferred finally. Is too much to expect what you pay for. Do Not, I repeat..Do Not use Key Harbor.

I brought my used, partially functioning auto smart key fob to Key Harbor, a small family business to fix. I regretfully paid the owner $300 up front. He did not inform me this payment was not refundable until I saw the notice on my payment receipt. After working on it for over 2.5 hours, over 2 working sessions, he returned the key fob to me, still unfixed, and with less functions working than when I gave to to him to fix. He refused to refund any of my money. He lied to me at least twice. His attitude is self-centered, not customer-centered. Run for your life from Key Harbor!

Ordered a key for my vehicle in order to start it . once key was picked up my parents were in formed it would only unlock the doors. I wasn't informed beforehand of that I explained I lost my key and couldn't start my car. So I went with a different company Lock N Roll which are great !! . The key I needed has a chip that goes with the vehicle by vin . the one I received from key harbor didn't have one (paid $95). When I called key harbor about it they just said it was for the doors and tried to up sale me the key I actually needed with the chip and the fob as well . Dang highway robbery no weapon

My key fob stopped working. I tried 3 replacement batteries from local stores, with minimal change. I then took it to the dealership, who said it would be $1,100 to fix. I looked around for other options, and someone told me about Key Harbor. A quick visit showed my battery was dead. They tested a new battery and checked the FOB itself. Everything is working great again, and I paid $10 for the battery. Key Harbor has a new customer for life!

I went to this place to get programming a couple of fobs for my minivan. The person who attended me told me the price for trying was $75 per fob but he couldn't guarantee it would work because they were bought from other seller and not from them but the payment would be the same either it works or not. So, I decided to take the risk for one fob. He took both the original fob and the new one and he went into to the vehicle. Without exaggerating he spend around 3 minutes in the vehicle and he came back to me saying it is done. While they were charging my credit card I went out to try my new fob and it didn't work at all. What surprised me it was that he didn't even show any intention to see what was going on, instead he said that he could sell me one for around $170, and if I wanted to include the emergency key it would be $150 additional. After two weeks I went to the official dealership and I got the original fob for $205 (plus the programing) and the emergency key for $35 additional. What surprised me there it was that the programing last around 1 hour instead of 2 min as it was in Key Harbor!! So, that was my experience in that place, hopefully it could be useful to other who are looking for a similar service in the zone.

This place have very poor service. The lady, Im not sure if she manger or owner but all she do is yell at you from the back of the store. They Dont tell you about the 50% restock fee. A friend of mine called to get a keyless entry for his car. They order the part and he came in two days later to get it installed. The guy came back in 5mins later and said his car cant be program cause its a older model and gave my friend half his money back 50% restock. What they should have done is told my friend to bring his car in so they can Verify the vehicle before they order the part.

Extremely disappointed in the service. I stopped by to get my key fob replacement since my unlock button didnt work and my key blade did not clip back. The young boy was the sales guy when I went back for pick up. He told me the buttons would work and the blade would clips back on. I went to the mall to shop and I got a voicemail my item was ready for pick up. Went back a lady in a cane gave me the key and said they dont have the housing to get the key to clips back on. I said well that was the point to get the unlock button to work and blade to clip back. She went to the back slamming stuff to and said I should of told her. Evidentially they aren't experienced enough. They had no idea what they were doing. And they need better customer service.Stay away!!To the reply below. I did not want the repair key because the key would not clip on to the new remote. The point was to repair the key fob and get a housing that clip with the key.

I prefer to give my money to local businesses (particularly over car dealerships). However, when I called to ask if they match prices, the person who answered basically told me the price I was given on an invoice was incorrect and I was wrong for thinking the dealers price was less.So, while I prefer to shop local and with small businesses, I do not like dealing with jerks.I said it was a dealer in Cary. The guy said he knows how much it costs there at Crown Honda and its over $200. Crown Honda is in Durham. Durham isnt Cary.Anyway, I paid less at the dealer. I think Key Harbor wanted $180, or so. I do not recommend wasting your time at Key Harbor. I tried to give you money. You didnt want it. Weird.

Went in to get a key replaced. Myles helped me see that i need actuators in my doors. Got parts ordered plus added some visors for my windows. Dropped my car off and picked it up with everything installed and working properly. Great customer service and experienced employees working. Will be recommending this place to my friends!

This is one of the most customer focused businesses Ive dealt with in quite a while. Im the one that had the sticky situation with the motorcycle key needing to be cut. These gentlemen set the expectation that this was an experimental try, and they did it and everything worked just fine. At no point was I led to believe that something was going to work even though it might not work. In the end, result was excellent!

My 1999 Honda key broke off in the trunk lock md-day at Food Lion. I had a spare key stashed on the car so I was able to continue with my day, but I needed to replace the spare and get the broken key parts out of my trunk lock. I work till 5pm. I wanted a store front open after 5pm. I didn't need to pay for the premium of mobile service. Key Harbor got me a spare and charged me nothing to extract the broken key. I called several other locksmiths. They were either only mobile or closed at 5pm. They all charged for key extractions.... so not only was Key Harbor open late enough to solve my problem, there was no charge for the key extraction. Fancy car keys are expensive to replace... these guys were reasonable for the key and really helped me out. Next time I won't shop around. I'll go straight to Key Harbor.

Was on my way to work this morning and my key snapped leaving me stranded at the gas station. Tried the spare key and it was no longer working. I called Key Harbor and they instantly helped me solve my predicament. Took the car in and within 30mins I had two brand new keys at a CHEAPER rate than any dealership. Called Capital Ford, where I bought my car, and they said they couldn't help me without seeing the key (the key that came with the car they sold me). Also said it would take an hour to program. Julie, the owner of Key Harbor, and Myles, the manager were both extremely attentive and helpful regarding my need - as the key was very expensive to duplicate. They both worked to find a solution expressing care and concern for my situation. I highly recommend use of Harbor Key should you be in need of key duplication services!

First, I have never written a google review, so this is saying a lot. I cannot even begin to describe how impressed I am with Key Harbor by the Crabtree Mall. I lost my keys and was unable to get into my car. They had the option to come to me (but I have AAA so this was not necessary) and replaced my key set for $100 cheaper (and quicker) than the dealership was able to do. I am extremely pleased and will only recommend Key Harbor in the future.

I came here to replace my 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. First class, professional, family owned business. I was given the total price and what I would be paying for over the phone before I arrived. Customer service was fantastic, t definitely helps because no one likes the frustration from car issues. I love convience, the repair barely took 20 minutes. There is a sitting area available to wait, but you also have Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, and Crabtree Mall in walking distance to pass the time. Any key issue car, home, etc I would recommend Key Harbor. Glenn and his wife have been in business for over a decade, he has the manufacturing background. I also found out he gets certain parts from the Dealership. What more can you ask for, a first class business, quality/professional service, amazing customer service and a price you can't beat.

I was tremendously pleased with the service that I received from Key Harbor. My one and only master key fell down a storm drain, and I needed a company that specialized in creating new key fobs for customers who did not have any keys from which a duplicate could be made. Lexus flat out told me that they could not do it, and that it would cost roughly $1300 dollars for them to contract out. They recommended that I contact Key Harbor. So, that's what I did. Within a few hours of my requesting their service, I had new keys. Matt, the person with whom I worked, was extremely kind and helpful. Though the price (roughly $850) was MUCH more than I would have wanted to pay to replace my car key, I am grateful that Key Harbor's price was substantially lower than the price Lexus quoted me. With the exception of the price, my service could have not been any better! I am very pleased, and I recommend Key Harbor to others.
