The kids and I were at Gallant Woods Park in Delaware and I locked my keys in the car. We live in Delaware and it made sense to use some one local, so I called Sandusky Locksmith. He said he could be there in about 30 minutes and his technician would call. The technician called and is located in downtown Columbus and is going to charge me mileage to get to Delaware and it will be minimum of an hour and it is gonna cost $200 plus tax!?!? What!!! That is not even reasonable. I have been an insurance agent for over 10 years and that is ridiculous. I asked the tech if he could do it for less and he said no it was not worth his time. So I called another local towing company, Joes Towing, referred by a friend, and they did it for $62, and it literally took him less than 10 minutes. I dont care if the insurance company is paying or I am paying that $200 is unreasonable.

First of all, there was a language barrier. I had a hard time understanding and making myself understood, both to the person I spoke with on the phone, and the people who came to install. Second, when they got here they tried to upcharge me from what had originally been quoted to me on the phone. I stood firm on that and they backed off on the upcharge. All I needed was my standard doorknob assembly replaced and a deadbolt installed. Somehow, the next thing I know, I suddenly realized they were replacing my doorknob with just a deadbolt! Yup, no doorknob on my front door - just a deadbolt! Anyone in their right mind would know that's not what anyone would want. Then they wanted to charge me *double* the original quote for fixing this installation screw-up. So we told them to put everything back the way it was and am finding someone else!

BE WARNED!!!! DO NOT USE THIS LOCKSMITH SERVICE!!! I needed a new key fob and for it to be programmed. The local dealership gave me a price of $220. I decided to try and find a cheaper option, and called this locksmith. I told them the exact year, make, and model of vehicle as well as exactly what the key fob looked like. The representative on the phone gave me an estimate of roughly $145. Thinking I could save $80, I set up an appointment for them to meet me at 2:00 to 3:00 in Sunbury, Ohio. They called at around 2:45 and said they would be there in an hour and a half. Things happen, but not really acceptable. The gentleman said he would leave the job he was on and come out to take care of me (coping a little bit of an attitude). He arrived well after 3:00. Even knowing exactly what the key fob was ahead of time and was needed done, the final price was $209.00 plus tax. If you think you are going to save some of your hard earned money using this service over going to the dealership - FORGET ABOUT IT. Go to the dealership and have less hassle for the same price, OR FIND ANOTHER MORE REPUTABLE LOCKSMITH. I am sure they are out there, but this BAIT & SWITCH company is not 1 of them.

I lost my key for my car and I had to wait for 3 days before the dealership can give a replacement. In fear that I won't make it to a business meeting that I've been preparing for a month, I took my chance to call this company and they told me that they do same day service. They came 45 minutes after I called them, brought their equipment and machine, and did it for a little or more 30 minutes. We tested it and damn it works right there! This company has saved me from losing my business partner and for you guys out their who might need help for a key replacement for your cars. CALL THIS COMPANY! This company is a life saver

Very upset that I went with this company! First the technician told me he would arrive at my house in 40 minutes... well over an hour and 15 minutes later- no technician. I call him and he is still 15 minutes away. He finally gets there and opens my door in 5 minutes and I get stuck with a $220 bill! A guy I called before them was only going to charge $80 but he was further away from my house, which is why I called a company closer. Remind you, they will NOT give you a quote over the phone. They stated 'the technician needs to see what kind of lock they are working with before they can give me a price' but estimated between $50 and $65! So after a $29 service call fee and $175 for labor+ tax, I got ripped off. Will NEVER go with this company again. I recommend staying far away from this company!

Perry was awesome in his service and gave me a discount to help out in need!!! He quickly remove our broken key from the front door and make us a new key within 5 minutes. They put me on schedule in 3:30am for asap and show up 30 min later, i didn't expect them to show up so fast since it was after hours service but they did and thats whats bring me to give them the 5 STARS rating. I had the worst week & these guys turned it around. I had my key snap in half my car key at that and in the same week someone tried to break in my home messing up the locks. Brooke was very sweet on the phone explaining everything and the gentleman that helped we're even cooler, thanks for helping me in my time of need right then and there at a low price! Your awesome!

My daughter took a road trip 2 hours from home and locked her keys in her car. I phone Sandusky Locksmith and was told there was a $29 service call charge and it would cost anywhere between $35 and $65 to open the door. I told them the exact make and model of the car. They said it would be 20 minutes before they arrived. They phoned my daughter and said 45 to 50 minutes. I think it actually took more than an hour. They ended up charging me $144 which is way more than the $94 max I was quoted. When I called to question the charge, they then said it starts at $35. They said they would investigate it because he didn't speak to me the first time (although it sounded like the same man). I waited for more than an hour for them to call me back with their 'findings' before I left this review. I gave them every chance to make this right and they haven't. Stay far away from the RIP OFF place!!!!!!!!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would! If they do end up calling and charging less (as originally quoted) I will update my review.******UPDATE******After a lot of squawking, I did receive a $50 refund and was asked to update my review.

I had the worst experience with someone breaking in my home the other day and I don't have a lot of money given they held me at gun point after I recovered with the police of course there was nothing to be done, they got away & I needed a new lock for my doors, Roy came almost immediately & comforted my feelings, got the entire house nice & locked up to where I don't have to worry anymore, there's no way they are breaking through this deadbolt. I recently moved and wanted to get my locks changed out in my house. I called Sandusky Locksmith thinking I would get great service based on the reviews I saw but that was not the case. I have had to make multiple calls to find out where the tech was for our first appointment 3/31 and when I got a return call I was told he couldn't come out. I rescheduled for Monday 4/3 and my appointment was for 12 but they didn't show up again for the second time nor did they call to tell me they weren't coming out. Unprofessional and bad customer service

Today was absolutely ridiculous, my morning was crazy and it already felt like 5 o'clock by the time it was noon. I had a bunch of appointments today and I woke up late only to find I locked my keys in my brand new mazda. Of course I could've taken a coat hanger but come on I literally just got her and I was already upset I was gonna miss my appts why would I screw my new baby's door+window?
