This place was absolutely amazing. Everyone was wearing masks and I felt pretty safe that they were making sure people were using them when getting up the table. Drinks were so delicious and the food was just spectacular. So much flavor and thought on every single dish mixing different ingredients that when combined in your mouth it's like an explosion of textures and deliciousness.Service was also excellent, Christian was great explaining things and wearing his mask the whole time.Make sure to plan ahead with lots of time because it's kinda hard to find reservation.

WOW! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and didn't want to leave, that's how well they took care of us. Shout out to Oscar, thank you for hooking up a wonderful intimate table for us. Tate at the bar for being so thoughtful and helpful as we celebrated. Last but not least Catherine our server, you went above and beyond and really wowed us every step of the way. The food is PHENOMENAL my compliments to the chef I wish you lived in my house so I could eat like this every single day. I could make 1 million different notes about how phenomenal this food was but you just need to get in your car and go! Handmade pasta with care and that steak is literally like eating slices of butter

Quarantine review! The food is absolute amazing!! Steak and scallop are cooked to perfection. Fresh bread is delicious. The amazing seafood pasta comes with a little spicy kick and it's very flavorful. Glad to enjoy a delicious meal like this at home. I highly recommend.

Red Ash is easily the best restaurant in Austin if you were to ask me. From their beautiful wood fired steaks to their amazing pasta dishes and everything else they serve up you absolutely cannot go wrong. I almost always order the burrata and tomato dish and a steak dish but be sure to pay attention to their sides because their potato side is amazinggggg. If you haven't been, make an effort to go, if the prices scare you then try and get in there for their happy hour when things get back to normal.

My husband , sisters-in-law and I decided to stop by Red Ash for an early dinner tonight. We were blown away with the service from our server Tate and the amazing food. Tate did a great job of making sure we felt welcome and informed while giving us space to enjoy or dinner. Thank you for taking such great care of us!

The food, service, and people were impeccable. Order a little bit of everything from the menu and you won't be disappointed. So much of it reminded us of cuisine from our trip to Italy, only better! Highly recommended!!

They have the best pasta in this city. I would know I've tried every Italian restaurant in a 100mi radius! Their steak is also amazing. They have a very unique atmosphere perfect for a date!

One of the best happy hours in the city, among having some of the best past in town. We ordered all the pastas on the happy hour menu and it was a great opportunity to try what you can try when you go back for a full dinner. The garlic bread was amazing and delicious. I got a few orders of it, it was so good. We also ordered some burrata and a tiramisu, which was also quite good.

Everything was great in terms of selection within the menu from wine to food. We had done the happy hour and it was a challenge to find 2 seats, let alone 1 seat for the hour we stood there. The steak over bruschetta was the only dish I did not like. Not really steak but the fat trimmed off and placed over bruschetta with a lot of Parmesan cheese. Wish the menu had specified that or the waiter/bartender. Every dish ordered had a lot of Parmesan cheese which took the Flavor away from the main entree. It was also interesting to see it on top of all the dishes ordered. Over good food and ambiance, just some items to be improved upon.

Great date night spot downtown. Make a reservation or grab a seat at the bar (first come). The sides and starters are the best part of the menu, carrots and beans were delicious! Small portions of entrees are plenty and recommend sharing everything. Chianti Classico (2015) goes well with everything. Could be an occasion place or every night. Oh and sit downstairs for a better atmosphere. We sat at the kitchen table and enjoyed watching the show that is the staff!

In town for the weekend. Wanted to have a nice dinner every night. The first night I went to a highly rated restaurant, but it wasnt near as good as the Red Ash. I wanted to try the happy hour which starts at 4:30, I got there at 6pm. Everyone did their best to get me a seat. I was fortunate and got to sit at the chefs bar in front of the kitchen.I ordered clams, in-house pasta, and the Caesar salad. Several of the professional waitstaff stopped and made sure that I had everything I needed. Everything that I had was excellent, I cant wait to get back!I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Happy hour or not this is by far one of the best restaurants that Ive visited while in Austin.

Wow! I had been avoiding Red Ash because I heard it was overpriced. But, I found it to be in line with other higher-end restaurants. Indeed, you can spend a lot of money here especially on wine, but you don't have to. We loved everything about our dining experience. The food was just awesome. It is very rich, which I guess is why it tastes so good. The bread alone was so delicious. Our waitress was very experienced and gave us just the right amount of attention and chatting. I definitely recommend this place. I want to try the happy hour soon.

Love this place, we'll be coming back for our anniversary. Staff and food was amazing! Oscar was so accommoding and got us in at the bar seating and Jessie was on top of her game with recommendations and services. They are taking precautions for COVID19 to help everyone be safe but also comfortable. Thank you!

My fianc and I have been wanting to try this place for months. It was worth the wait! From the moment I walked in every person I can in contact with was helpful and friendly. Our waiter Zack was so kind, patient and helpful! It was his birthday and when we got their they had signed a card for him for his birthday which was such a special touch. We tried appetizers, many menu items and dessert. Everything was fantastic. All seven of us left very satisfied raving about the food!I would give more stars if I could!! Thank you for making his night special!

Awesome experience over all. The service is friendly but very helpful with any questions or requests you may have. For starters the octopus and clams are so mouth watering and good. Ordered the Porterhouse to share with the table. Portions are great and all the food is so good. Has grwat decor and chill atmosphere. Food speaks for itself but also has a great drink selection.

Superb! The Bruschetta of wood roasted dry-aged steak trimmings was amazing... I've never had anything like it before. The beef trimmings had the funkiness and depth of flavor of blue cheese, and the mushrooms, garlic, and parmesan shavings were a perfect complement. I'm pretty sure this would never be called bruschetta in Italy, but who cares? The agnolotti were very good, as were the beans and the gianduja cake. But it's those steak trimmings that were amazing.Good service. Not cheap.

The food was good, maybe 3 stars at most. But the deserts were terrible (olive oil cake and chocolate cake). But my biggest issue is their chocolate cake had peanut butter. The menu did NOT state this or I would not have ordered it. Nothing an epi pen and trip to the ER cant handle right?

No words. Ok, actually, lots of words! This place was outstanding. From truly exceptional service to the BEST BREAD I've had in a year (That garlic! That chew!). From the decadent Gorgonzola gnocchi to the roasted sweet potatoes with maple and mascarpone (!). I'm out of superlatives!Brian scored juicy, lovely meatballs and pork and veal agnolotti. And then: a warm peanut butter chocolate 'lava' cake. Paired with a little prosecco, compliments of the staff. I just... I am utterly, perfectly sated and wildly pleased with our dinner at Red Ash. I'm also very full, but can't think of anything I'd have been ok missing out on. Can't say enough great things!

I have been to a lot of places in the US in search of authentic Italian food and this place felt This Is It! You may have to wait, so it's always good to make a reservation beforehand. The food was great, the flavours are amazing, the service was pleasing! You have a lot of options for beef and pasta. The entire vibe of the the restaurant is so happening! My friend had her birthday that day, and we got a desert on the house!

AMAZINGBest Italian in town. I had the squid ink noodles, and it was so delicious. My friend had the lamb risotto, which was just as good, and the gnocchi. OMG it's the best. Everything here is good. Pricy, but definitely worth it here.

Great atmosphere. We walked in and were seated right away. The waiter was super nice and explained the menu succinctly and gave suggestions. We got the garlic bread and it was heavenly, by far the best garlic bread I've ever had. Food came out rather quickly for a nicer restaurant which was a delight. The food was splendid and we all enjoyed everything we ordered. Would highly recommend!

A group of 6 had dinner here on a recent trip to Austin. It was GREAT! we all talked about it the rest of the trip, should have gone back as all other restaurants afterward paled in comparison. Get the garlic bread. Filet was wonderful, have them slice it for you. You won't be disappointed!

It's impossible to get in, but if you can prepare yourself for one of the best lux dining experiences in downtown Austin. A well versed staff, beautifully curated menu and some truly fab cocktails. I walk by a few times a week looking for a spot at the bar. Always feels like winning the lottery when I find one.

Definitely come here on a cheat day because... butter, they use it and a lot of it! Everything we tried here has been incredible. The pasta, the clams, the octopus and lamb are all excellent choices. Everything on the menu is prepared over a wood-fire oven, which gives the entire restaurant a fun smoky aroma.Without a doubt a 5 out of 5 every time we've gone.

Food was well seasoned, pasta was delicious, service was good. Place was a bit noisy. Grilled items were surprisingly undercooked with little 'grill effect' for a place that tours its grill.

Food and service were fantastic. Samantha at the front was so accommodating! I wish I had asked her where she got her skirt. And Josh who took care of our dinner was phenomenal! Great recommendations and very attentive. We ordered some VERY rich food, so I can recommend more of the veggies. Roasted carrots, yes. The steak bruschetta, yes. Gnocchi was so very cheesy, maybe too much so. But still all was delicious. Highly recommend the espresso gelato, to finish. We also had the best seats in the House!! Above the bar, looking at the whole kitchen! So cool. Thanks y'all!

Amazing food, went with a party of 9. We shared everything and I can't tell you an item I wouldn't get again. The one thing I wouldn't want is the waiter. He liked talking more than listening. He forgot to bring us an appetizer and entree. Since we shared everything it wasn't that big a deal and our bill was $900 + so we received a bunch of food. If you can get a reservation this is definitely a place you should go to.

Great experience overall. Very nice atmosphere with a wait staff who took excellent care of us and who were very personable. The food was delicious with a nice range of options. We like to taste each others' dishes, and each dish we ordered was cooked to perfection with a great depth of flavor. They were very accommodating for a vegan in our party and ensured everything was made available to her while still providing the rest of us the non-vegan elements of the sides we ordered. The menu font could be a little larger with the relaxed lighting but that's the only thing I'd change.

I travel a whole lot and have tried multiple Italian places across the globe. This place is good, although highly overpriced for sauces and pasta, especially the wait time. They have surpassed the price point for Italian. Much of the rest is over priced and as told by the staff, they limit the reservations to create the buzz. Once you get pass the self created hype, it's just a good Italian restaurant. It's nice for the Austin area, but the prices are higher for that type of food. Its definitely not your local corner Italian restaurant to go to regularly. My prediction is that the place will fade once everyone has tried it a couple times and have had their wallet hit for it.

Ok this place is my favorite place in Austin and I have been here 5 or 6 times now. I have to say our server Johnny was really awesome. He helped our family visiting make the right decisions on what to get to eat and they loved it. Thanks to him for making there visit to Austin from New England one of the most memorable ever... Thanks, Red Ash for hiring the best of the best!! Chad

I've never eaten here without having a stomach ache afterwards. Even when you think you're getting something light, the food is too rich. Excellent staffing at the bar. I wish I knew there names so I could thank them for their wonderful service!

It's pricey and completely worth every penny. Consider the burrata, get some bread but go hungry so you can get a steak. Don't over buy sides, but get a couple! And save some room for olive oil cake. Yeah it's all good...

Celebrated an early birthday dinner at Red Ash and it was phenomenal! The dinner started off with birthday card signed by the staff which was really sweet. Caleb, our waiter, was super helpful and attentive! His app recommendations of the Red Snapper Crudo and Octopus a La plancha were delicious choices! My entree was one of the specials of the night, the Dover Sole was fantastic as well. I really enjoyed the dinner and experience. Loved the extra touch of lighting a candle with Hot Chocolate cake I ordered as well!

This place was great! We were a party of five and made reservations (a must as the place was packed on a Saturday at 6:15). Our waiter was really nice and knew A LOT about the menu. Answered all of our questions, and we had a lot.We started with the cheese and meat plates because none of the appetizers really interested us. But I love cheese so this was not a problem for me!

Spectacular dinner. Sat at the kitchen countertop and talked with John the chef/owner. So I got to see all the incredible dishes as they came out. Highly recommend everything! The burrata was creamy and rich and a perfect accompaniment to the blistered tomatoes and crusty warm bread. The hen of the woods mushrooms were divine and the porterhouse was perfect to share for the group. I recommend tasting a piece of meat right near the bone. It has a nutty rich flavor that will blow your mind.

Incredible Italian dinner and modern experience. We stumbled upon Red Ash while trying to find something good, and they got us in almost immediately. If you can sit in the loft area, it is highly recommended! Since it is nearly impossible to get into as a walk-in, reservations are the best way to go. Josh, our waiter, and the owner/chef, John Carver (formerly with Eddie Vs) were running around ensuring each guest was attended to. The halibut (arguably the best I have ever had) and steak bruschetta are a must-try, and the olive oil cake is the way to go to end the meal. If Red Ash could receive more than 5 stars, it would be deserving of each and every one!

Not bad but most certainly not great. Very typical overpriced Italian food that's just not worth the cost. Meatballs were incredibly dry, buy the butter clams and smoke trout were pretty tasty. The proportions for the meals were pretty decently sized but for us, it was still not worth the cost.I'm glad I came to try, but I wouldn't add this back to my restaurant list.

Our dinner was wonderful, the highlights were the appetizers, desserts, and our server. They really must improve the service at the bar, we tried several times to get some attention of one of the bartenders but they could careless so we went to Truluck's for drinks before our reservation. This is the second time that it's happened.
