This is a brokerage house not a moms and pops company. This means they sub out the work to independent contractors, which means youre at the mercy of whoever they send out. Its like Uber for Locksmiths. You may get a good guy, or not so good. My first tech couldnt get the job done, but charged me upfront regardless, so after 2weeks of running away from me, they sent a tech that got it done, AND charged me AGAIN. Moral of the story: DO NOT PAY UPFRONT, unless you want to go thru the whole dispute process. I had a tough car to program(lost keys) needed ECM reflash, a lot of techs dont have the equipment. Again, do. not. pay. upfront.

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I was locked out of my house in the cold and requested them to come help me. They said they would arrive in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later I called and asked how much longer they would be and he said 15 more minutes. This was not acceptable and I could not wait this long to get into my house. I wasted an hour of my time waiting for someone that I had to cancel because of his incompetence. Never use them unless you have time to waste.

After being put on a long hold I was told a tech would get with me shortly. I didn't hear from a tech for a bit and then it took him 20min to come out. He was going to drill my door but ended up using air shims and a metal claw. If you're capable of drilling your own door or know how to use air shims you can do the job for much less yourself and save the $207 bones.But I got in without damage to my door so got the job done.

The service was fine and the guy was nice enough but they charged $139 which is more than Ive ever paid. Maybe it was just the time or Federal Way prices but last time I called a locksmith it was only $60. They wouldnt give me an estimate over the phone so I had no idea it would be that much until after he unlocked my door which took about five minutes. I would suggest people ask for an estimate and call around before having them come to the location.

I was able to make an appointment on Easter and another appointment at 7:30pm! His quality of work was excellent. He gave me great advice and made the whole process easy for me. I called Zip Locksmith when I accidentally locked myself out of the house. They gave a good quote and a decent timeline to come out and get my door open. They arrived within that timeframe, so I am happy with how quickly they got to me.However, after arriving, the worker pried at my door and insisted that the lock was 'too old' and would have to be broken off. Mind you this is just a regular locking doorknob, nothing fancy. I made it very clear that I did not want to pay for it, so if it was going to cost, I would leave the doorknob on and wait for my roommate to get home. Or even leave it as the gaping hole and go pick up a doorknob for much cheaper.He also insisted I would not have to pay for the doorknob.So he ripped off the old knob and put the new one on, and of course, I was charged for it. My total came out to be over $200 because of the doorknob replacement that I very clearly said I do NOT want and wouldn't be charged for. I've been trying to contact Zip Locksmith for 4 days (Since Monday morning) now and no one has picked up the phone for me. Not even an answering machine to let me leave a message. I want this doorknob taken OFF and refunded for it, especially since I was replacing my knobs soon anyway (with silver, and their replacement was gold). I don't need to pay that much just to replace it again myself. I wish Zip would get a hold of me so this can be sorted out.5 star for their quickness and getting the job done.1 star for being mislead and run around and losing money on this. Not very happy.

This company is a life saver! I locked myself out of my new duffle bag and they managed to open it within 5 minutes. The store told me a locksmith would have to cut it but these guys opened it for me without having to break it. I would go to this Zip Locksmith for anything lock related.
