Locked out of my apartment and they charged me $138 for a guy to come and wave a fob on my door lock. He smelled like cigarettes and it just didnt feel professional. They have a contract with my apartment complex so were forced to use them. Although they were upfront about the cost we didnt have the ability to shop around. I feel so bad for the people who cant afford such a large amount. It could really be devastating for lower income families.

I stopped in today to get a couple of keys made and was greeted pretty quickly by a man behind the counter. I told him that I needed a couple of keys made and he went into the back to get to work. I was browsing the store for about 3 minutes when he said that my keys were already made. That was QUICK! So quick that I didn't even have any time to snap any photos of the shop and it's cool offerings.The price for 3 simple keys was about $9.50. I'm thinking that may have been a little steep on price, but I don't buy keys too often, so maybe I'm wrong about that. The store was super convenient for me to stop and I can't complain about the speedy service I got. For that convenience, I'm totally willing to pay a premium for that. Also, I LOVE to support my local businesses here in Madison.They do have quite a few items for sale in their store. They have re-programmable locks, multiple lock sets that all use the same key and lots of door locks to choose from.There was another customer in with a pretty complex situation and they were helping him like it was a piece of cake. Any job big or small; I think Capital Lock should be able to handle it.

Awesome experience! Called him and asked how long it would take to make duplicate keys. He said just a couple minutes. It LITERALLY took less than a minute! Super nice guy, quality keys, and great prices. This is the go-to shop in Madison!

We moved into a 100+ year old house with a front door latch that wasnt working - being moderately handy my husband and I thought we got this, well just replace it! How wrong we were. You dont replace mortise locks - you take them to these guys! I arrived in the store with a bag full of pieces of the lock and handle. They didnt flinch- just took my mess and put it back together! Then came and installed it a few hours later. Im so grateful for them - we were able to maintain the original door and lock for hour new (to us) house! Thanks guys!

Called with a question about programming an ignition key. Capital didn't have the technology at the time, but they were very helpful in referring me to another locksmith who did. Since businesses sometimes refuse to refer people to their competition, I thought it was worth acknowledging their good will in this case.

I have used them twice in the last 2 weeks. Once at the hotel I manage, and the other time for my condo storage unit. Both times they got back to immediately and were there within about an hour. The situation for the hotel was for a guests room and was after hours. Fair prices, quick results, and excellent service. Can't beat that.

Initial work was done well. But the technician took off weather stripping on our main doors and didn't put it back on. Even after calling to remind that this needs to be done, the technician doesn't come. After waiting 2 weeks, I call again and still don't have satisfaction.

Words cannot even say how awful this place is. $169.86 is what these scam artists charged me for merely leaving my apartment to take my dog outside while forgetting my key fob to get back in. Every other place I have ever lived, the charge is $35.00 for a lockout. This is nothing short of extortion! Avoid this place like the plague!!!
