First of all, I called every local locksmith and he was the only one that answered/ was open. The tailgate on my truck needed a new lock. I told him my family was about to move across the country and we needed to be able to lock our stuff up in the truck bed. He took it apart and told me exactly what part I needed (it had to be ordered from the ford dealership). He put the lock back together minus the piece I needed and I asked him what I owed him. He said nothing yet. As a woman who knows absolutely nothing about cars or locks I appreciated his honesty. He could have told me $50 and I would have paid him. My husband was in town when the part was ready, so he ended up being the one to take the truck back to Mels to get it put in and keyed. He remembered the truck and that we were moving. When my husband asked how much he owed he just said Have a nice day, and walked away. What a nice guy!

I cannot say enough good about Mel. Someone who absolutely cares about his customersthis is a unique attribute you dont see much in business anymore! He worked with us to come up with the best solution to a tricky locked-door situation. I would recommend him over and over again. Very impressed, and Im happy to see that there are still very good people in this world!!

Id like to give them a shout out. I took my truck to the dealership due to the key not working anymore. There was metal jammed in the cylinder. Dealership told me it was going to cost $1000 to fix. I brought it to mels lock and key for them to look at it. They told me Id have to take the cylinder out and theyd fix it. They took about a minute to fix it. They didnt even charge me. So they saved me $1000. They did a great job. Thanks yall. Ill definitely come back for all my key and lock needs.

Quick and great service. Got my lock rekeyed, only took a few minutes. Stopped a project he was working on to jump up and help me as soon as I walked in. Very knowledgeable. Saved me from having to replace my entire door. Great price. Great service. Highly recomend.

Absolutely AMAZING. I called them today because I idiotically locked myself out of my house! They were there in 20 minutes and the man they sent out who's name I wish I would of caught was extremely kind and professional and knew exactly what he was doing! Mel's Lock and Key has been around ever since I can remember and it is soooooo awesome having a local business as dedicated as these guys! They have literally given so much back to the community and have always been so dignified in the things they do for their customers no matter how out of hand the situation. . .I remember a friend of mine went in to have a key made. This friend was just going through a really really tough time (hard to even stand by and watch), and she went in Mel's with very little money, but was planning to pay in change. The man at the counter swiped away change she was counting out on the table and said 'You know what mam, you're good to go.' I will never forget her tears as she explained what had happened. Ever since then, based off of the kind way they treated her, they have gained me and my family as lifelong customer's. . . I will always recommend Mel's lock and key.

105 dollars, 2 forms of ID, a key code and a locksmith to cut a key, thats what the dealership wanted me to go through. Mels told me they would do it for thirty, and showed up in significantly less time than they quoted me, and had my back in my car in under a minute. This man Is a saint! We buckled our little girl in her car seat and then shut the doors only to realize she had the keys in the backseat with her and we were locked out. Mel's came and unlocked the car for us and when we asked him how much he said 'I'm not charging you when your toddler is locked inside in this cold weather.' Couldn't ask for a kinder guy to work with. I hope no one locks themselves out this winter, but if you do, this man deserves your business.

These guys are great. I had two door knobs that suddenly loosened and weren't working properly. We were going to try to figure it out ourselves to replace and, hopefully, re-key the locks until my Dad suggested I call Mel's. They came out that same day and had the re-keying and replacements made in no time at all. The price was more than reasonable and certainly well worth it to me, since I didn't have to spend hours driving all over town or scouring the internet trying to find the right material, etc myself. Really friendly employees and great customer service mean I'll definitely be a repeat customer in future--although I hope we don't have to have door knobs replaced again for a long time! Straight to business type of place, and there is nothing wrong with that. The gentleman at the counter was able to craft me a new Masterlock after bringing in only the original key. I opted for a sturdier lock to decrease the likelihood of it being cut again. Very reasonable prices.

Did the dumb thing and locked my keys in my truck. Searched for locksmiths close to my location and called Mel's Lock & Key. I gave the person who answered the phone my information and location, waited maybe 15-18 minutes and a Mel's van showed up, the guy was very nice and had me on my way for $30 in less than 5 minutes.
