Chet's gave me a reasonable estimate for changing locks, but then after doing the work added on a separate $69 trip fee! That was not mentioned in the estimate. The guy was very professional and did good quality work. But beware of the added charges.

Wish I had come to Chets Lock and Key first. I had gone to several auto parts stores and called several locksmiths about replacing the lock on the fuel tank door to my car. Pretty simple fix, yet no one had the part and locksmiths werent willing to look at it and told me to go to the Toyota dealership. Luckily, I took it into Chets and he said hed have it replaced with new keys the next day for $15.

They DIDN'T show up. I made an appointment for 10:30am Oct 28, 2019. A person called me 1 hour before the appointment to confirm I would be there. NO WARNING that this would happen !!! When I didn't call back in 30 MINUTES, they skipped my appointment. UNBELIEVABLE. Avoid this company unless you have tons of time on your hands. The person that was supposed to do the work didn't sound as if he was a direct employee. I believe they may be all sub-contacted which would explain their poor communication. It also concerned me about the safety for customers of not having direct employees.

If you need a lock fixed, these are the guys!I have a very old motorcycle with two side boxes. One box holds the battery, the other is the tool box. One had a lock cylinder, the other didn't. They fitted a new lock cylinder and made it work with my original key so I have one key for both boxes! Amazing! Their key reproduction is about 97% functional for me which is WAY beyond anything you get at a box store.

Mark came out to install my door hardware and fix the one I couldnt get and he did a great job! I wasnt expecting him to give me helpful info on the manufacturer or about my keys but he did and I appreciated that. I feel better knowing he got my door hardware installed properly.

Mark was fantastic. Very helpful and since it was a new home, he charged me a little less. He took his time to make sure things were correct, which was awesome because every single one of the doors was slightly off. He fixed all of them. Would definitely use them again.

This was the second time in the last year or so that I've come in to have keys made. This time I had to return to have additional service done to the keys since they didn't work. The heavy set man at the counter whom I've been told is Chet has always been difficult to deal with. He acts as if he really doesn't like customer service. This last time when I returned because the keys didn't work he told me that there was nothing more he could do unless I brought in the lock for him to look at. I felt all along that the blanks he used were wrong. When I asked him to double check them he was dismissive of my concern. I chose to go to a competitor in a different part of town rather than to bring in the lock (which wasn't an option under my circumstances). The other store confirmed the blanks were wrong, cut the new keys for me and they worked perfectly. The real problem for me wasn't that he made a mistake. It was his attitude which was dismissive and arrogant. I feel great that I found another locksmith I can rely on who is much easier and more helpful. I don't recommend Chet's. You can do better.

Maybe it's replacing a broken lock, maybe updating, maybe just getting extra keys. Chet's is my 'go-to' place for anything to do with locks and keys....they have never let me down...key copies work every time, prices seem fair, and they give good advice
