I was locked out of my gun safe with important documents I needed out. The locksmith showed up on time per when he said he would be out there. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to unlock the safe witch is now as good as new and working just fine. Very reasonable price. I will call these guys again when in need.

Paid to come to house.with in a 2 weeks or less fell a part while taking the gentleman at Fith 3 baank put it back together. Call was told it could not happen. Called them ...2 times went to store . I was asked what did the guy !! LOKE LIKE. It on the computer also dash was not put back at all right I was told Ithey wold call me back will call back that did not happened. So I paid over 500. Dash not the same and a key that won't work

What a ripoff. I have heard good things about this place before so I drove a good distance to try them out. They verified over the phone that they would copy a key for me if I brought in my own blank without an issue. So I went ahead and brought keys to all of my vehicles. They then claimed they would charge $50 per key to simply duplicate each key on the machine. No parts, no electronics no programming and lastly no guarantees. This is a complete ripoff. They are charging for high markup that they usually get making chipped keys. The keys in the exact brand that they sell are $3-4 from the key distribution company. What would cost $1 at a hardware store they think is worth $50. No wonder the place was empty with no customers.

Car keys got stolen and asked them to come and wipe out the old key and make a new one. They said it would be $150. I agreed. They came out no problem. MY CAR WAS STOLEN 6 DAYS LATER.This buisness man blocked my number instead of discussing it. And blocked me from facebo. DONT DO IT.

Called to get the lock changed on a house I unwillingly inherited, told the lady on the phone what documentation I had. I asked for after 4 because I would have to leave work early, she said after 4 is overtime, so I asked for after 3 she said she couldnt set windows like that. After a bit more conversation she said a locksmith would call me. After talking to my boss I called again and spoke to a different lady. She said a locksmith was finishing his last job and would give me a call. I told her I would be there in 10 minutes. So I wait in my car in 37 degree weather for an hour. I call at 4:30 because I havent got a phone call, I get the first lady again, she said nothing was ever set up for today because she hadnt called me back about my documentation. I told her about my previous call. She said nothing was ever set up, and told me they had openings for the next day. So if nothing was ever set why was I told someone would call me twice?So the left hand doesnt know what the right is doing and I left work 2 hours early and sit in my car for an hour for nothing.

Worst customer service on the planet. Would rather argue with a customer than try to resolve a problem. Gives false information about his services, also. Told my brother in law that he would program his vehicle so that his old keys wouldnt work so it couldn't be stolen and it got stolen anyways indicating that his method did not work at all because the old keys still worked, quite evidently.

Josh came to cut keys to my truck, was here within the hour just like I was told when I called in. He had my keys cut with in 30 minutes and even went out and beyond what he had to do. I didnt have a lot of money and called around and got some ridiculous prices but Colgate was reasonable. The reviews I read are accurate and they do great work on a budget. Heaven sent! Lost my key fob and Josh came here to furnish me a new one, all programmed to work just like the lost one. Everything worked perfect. I called other automotive locksmith around Louisville but Colgate's gave me the best price. Don't go anywhere else! Not even the dealership. They are way overpriced and a ripoff. This is the company to call for all of your 'key' problems

Our locksmith arrived fast, he was friendly and very professional. We locked our keys in the trunk of our classic car And the LS took great care to respect our car, and our time. I hope you never lock your keys in your car but if you do I highly recommend Colgate.

Worst Lock Smith in Louisville not professional at all refused to believe that they had previously replaced my locks was willing to pay but the manager who was at my house wanted to argue that his company never replaced my locks and they did while I was looking for receipt he left and hung up on me when I called and blocked my phone number

READ ME BEFORE YOU CALL: On 12/14/2018 I called Joe Colgate regarding a situation. I have wrote a past review about my honest experience with my phone call with Joe, but for Joe that was too honest and in return he called my father who forced me to take it down because my father agreed to the money he spent. Well what I didnt agree to was to be greeted over the phone with screaming and insults to the point where the OWNER of a business had to say I cant listen when Im talking so I dont know what you said. I have never felt so openly disrespected in my entire life, so much to the point where Im willing to rewrite a LESS negative review. But where this business lacks is Joe, and you can see in many other 1 star reviews. His attitude, demeanor and how he spoke to me has left me in shock ever since. In the past review Joe was so quick to respond to his service and had the audacity to blame me for locking myself out (newsflash, you own a locksmith service, what do you expect people to call you for?) when his attitude was my main focus. Joe, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself and disgusted for refusing to take accountability for your actions. I dont care about your services because what matters most is how you handle it. How you screamed at your customers so much to the point where you said I dont know what you said I cant listen when Im talking. And after I asked to speak I got three words out before I was met with more yelling. Once again, let me bring up other reviews and make note this is not Joes first encounter with his unknown diligence and lack of knowing how to put his paying customers first. Your policies and taking my money didnt earn you this review, your attitude did along with your apparent poor ability to run a business. In conclusion, I suggest ANY locksmith company in Louisville besides this one and will share this experience to save other people from the disrespect that was given to me. (P.S. Joe, if you dont like this review, feel free to call me and ask me to take it down personally, dont be a coward and call a 23 year olds father to save yourself from your own actions)

I have a Push-to-Start 2011 Hybrid that had a misplaced key.I was told they were the best in town, and after I called around to make sure that was the case I had them come out to my house to service my car.They were available that day and within 5 minutes a dispatcher named Josh had sent someone out to me.Josh (another Josh) called me before he arrived and then called me when he arrived. I walked outside and spoke with him, he told me it'd be about 10-15min. until he was finished (my battery was also dead), then he knocked on the door when he was done.He was quick, super friendly, and professional but not on that corporate BS level of fake professionalism, you know?When all was said and done it cost me $220 for the new push-to-start key and the programming and the service to my location. That was the best in town I could find. Thank you Colgate, and thanks Josh and Josh!Peace.
