Avery Air Conditioning Reviews

This company is no where near the 'honesty above reproach' they claim to be.I called them initially about 9 months ago to fix my air conditioning. At the time the tech said he could rig it to work but would have to order parts and come back to fix it.After several months it starting acting up again and I called them out. The same tech came and said, did 'they' come and replace the parts. I said no, he said he would have to order the parts and would come back. I paid him for the parts and the service call (which he did nothing). I waited for our appointment time and the tech never showed up. I called and the dispatch said there was a 'scheduling' problem. So I rescheduled for the next day, again the tech never showed. This time I was told it's a 'computer' problem.I rescheduled 2 more times with again, 2 more no shows. So I called them and asked to just refund my money and I will find someone else to fix it. They said no problem, call their accounting and they will refund. I have now spent several months calling their office. No one ever calls you back. When I did finally talk to their accounting office, she said she would send me a check. Two weeks later, still no check. I called back, finally getting in touch with the accounting lady who then asks me to call her the next day and give her my card. I did, gave her my card, but never received my refund. Since then, anytime you call their office, they claim they are just an answering service and they will leave a message. I call every day, leave a message every day, still no one responds.I believe this company is probably in some sort of financial trouble. I would not use them at all if you don't want to get stiffed.

If you are considering doing business with this company I would highly suggest you look into the people that are running it! A company is only as good as the people in charge!Make them provide proof they've taken out a 10 year parts and labor warranty rather than just telling you that you have the warranty! What is the company's financial situation?Has the company changed owners lately? What is the company's BBB rating?Do the people in charge have back ground checks like the employees?Within the last 8 months this company has a pattern of taking advantage of it's employees, and not paying them, so how do you think they would treat you after they get your money?

I called them because my heater was acting up Feb of '09. The tech showed me burned wires and told me about $350 for the parts plus an addition $89 for labor. Since I didn't have that much I got out for him 're-wiring' the burned wires and charging me $272 labor. Three days later it was out again and I had a neighbor who is an HVAC guy look at it. He showed me the $35 part that caused the original and current problem, and $60 to replace it. $95 and it has heated since. I did call back to the office of Avery, but they said their techician did what he was supposed to do.

'honesty above reproach' is there saying. Well to be honest, they suck. I had two systems installed in December. Both have failed. We called Avery to fix the first problem, which was the heater was running in the cooling position. I know it was the thermostat, but it was under there warrent. The repair guy said all was working within manufacture specs. REALLY I like my cold ac unit to blow 100 degree air in 90 degree day. Come on. The end result is I went to HD and replaced the thermostat. Unit now works great. I tried to reach a manager at Avery to complain about the lack of education of the tech, and to this day I have not recieved a call back, but I was assured that I would. That was a month ago. Now the second unit does not blow cold air at all. Having to call some one else to fix there screw up.I do need to say, I was a contractor for many years and always respected other peoples buildings and homes. A clean install was the way I worked. With Avery, I had to spend three days fixing all the issues. Example. A 3 inch square hole on the side of my building for a .75 inch pipe. They left the hole open to the outside. From the inside of the building, you could see sun light, rain etc. It was even worse for the condensor lines. They were clean when working, but there was no quality of craftmenship in the work. I will make sure to not recommend Avery in the future to anyone. I will go as far as to say 'Do not use Avery!' I hope the rule of 10 applies.........

Not even bankruptcy could keep Ray's annoying commercials off the air. No profit Ray? Really? Maybe that's why you'll be out of business within a year.
