Refused to sharpen mower blades.I drove 12 miles only to have them turn my business away. Mower blades have plenty of life left in them. I'm very disappointed.

My simple push lawn mower wouldn't start this year so I took it into the shop at Stanwood hardware to have the carburetor replaced or cleaned. After 7 weeks of being jerked around I wound up picking the lawn mower up, still not repaired, and fixed it myself. There was no explanation for why it took so long other than they were simply incapable of ordering and tracking repair parts. Several times over the course of the seven weeks I was given misinformation as to what was going on. When I originally brought it in they told me it would be about one to two weeks. After three weeks and not having heard anything I called and no one was available so they took a message and said someone would call me back. No one did. I called again a couple days later, and the shop attendant told me it would be one or two more days to fix the mower and they would call me. A week later having not heard anything again I went into their shop and the person working there wasn't able to find the part they ordered. It turned out it never got ordered so they ordered it in front of me, and told me it would be just a couple days to get the part in and they would fix it right away and call me. Another week later having not heard anything I called and they again took a message which they never returned. When I finally did get ahold of them after 30 minutes of searching they were unable to find out if the part had ever been delivered, but assured me they would track it down and get the mower repaired. Three weeks later I finally gave up on them and picked the mower up.

If zero stars were available, that's what I would give. I took a pressure washer in for service and was told it would be at least 2 or 3 weeks, as they are very busy. At 4 weeks, I called for status. Person told me they would call back tomorrow with that information. Never called. Have been there once and called 3 total times & always told that same thing & never got a call back ever. Save yourself some grief and take small engine repair jobs to someone who appreciates your business enough to return your calls.

Forgot how to sharpen chains on chainsaws Cant remember how they have been in business so long . Good for only one thing and that is the brass in plumbing departmentReally dont care about customers anymore Comfortable with treating people poorly and wasting there time but they are willing to charge a premium for there time.Now they are not the only show in town Ace hardware is leaps ahead unfortunately

I was taken back how knowledgeable the staff were on literally any topic a homeowner would want to know about. Good selection, and I wasn't surprised to learn 3 x generations of the Nicholas family, a well-known philanthropical family in the county, have worked the floors in that very same store. Couldn't recommend this store more and their treatment of customers. I personally was helped by a bright young employee relegated to wheelchair through disability. Great place, couldn't have had a better experience.
