Great full service hardware store. Full line Stihl dealer, equipment rentals including bobcats, extremely helpful staff. This is a newer, much larger location. All kinds of hard to find hardware, plumbing parts and electrical items in the drawers. Excelent selection of plants and garden items in warmer months. Also offer plowing in the winter.

Place seems rundown on the inside. Small floral selection that is often unstaffed. Called about a product and worker told me they didn't carry it without bothering to look for it, I found it fine myself. However, Ive also had staff go above and beyond for me finding out of season items in storage without an issue.

Rented small trailer. Clerk told me I had to go online which I had done. Manager was highly rude and ordered me to give him my phone. I gave my confirmation number to be told 'you aren't taking my trailer'. You get that back here by sat. I rented it with a drop three hrs away. No apologies no explanation. I had items to purchase and he was so rude didn't offer to let me buy them. I was very patient NO ONE should use this place if they need to move. I was so excited to get my furniture transferred. WOW what an inconvenience and I did everything right and I left without the trailer I arranged to rent WOW this place is BAD!!

This True Value store is the opposite of it's name. They are NOT TRUE to customers and they do not VALUE your business. I was in the middle of a paint project at my home on the far west side of Madison. When we ran out of Benjamin Moore paint, and the Madison store happened to be closed, I drove all the way across town to McFarland for their help. I brought the can of paint we were using, and the store 'matched it' and sold me $80 worth of paint. When I got home and continued my paint job, the colors were not right. The paint they sold me was a darker shade of beige and my original paint was a lighter shade. It looked awful. I called back, assuming the store would have good customer service and help me out...I assumed wrong. They refused a refund, even though their paint department assured me it was a match (I even had given them the paint code from the original paint can!) So, not only did I drive all the way across town to give them business, I was now out $80 from paint that did not match. The manager was incredibly rude on the phone. I would not recommend this store to anyone. As a person who has worked in retail before, I would never treat a customer so poorly when it was the store's mistake in the first place!!! WOW!!!
