Hi guys,Ive just got a service for duplicating my car key. I exactly had a key bought from online and just want to cut and make it work for using my car. Firstly, the employee told me that it would be a $45 for cutting, but if you want to do with setting a program, you have to pay about $99 for the price. So I decided to do only cutting my key. Then he tried to do that. After he is done, he tried to open the door of my car. It can open the door, but it didnt work to lock the door. Then he tried to do it again, it worked for opening and locking the door, but it cant start the car. I told him why didnt it work to start the vehicle. He said that if you pay more to do with the program, it should be working with the remote. So I decided to pay more $35 to do it again and Ive waited for him about 30 minutes. He looked like busy with the other customers and told me that he waited for his tool to set the program in the key.I went back to my friends home and came back to his office again. He told someone to help this setting. He tried to do that and it can work for starting the car, but the remote didnt work. He told me that maybe the remote chip didnt work with the key and I have to buy the new key from website and can do it again for free price. I actually come from LA to visit my friend here and have to go back home for few days. So I told him that its okay, but I think that it would not be okay for the lost money and waste time.Finally, he said that my key looks like work, but it doesnt work. Thank you for your response. This is a helpful place for all your locksmith needs, whether for your car or home. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgable. I went in because I was having trouble with the lock on my car door, and they helped me diagnose the problem and gave me some options at solving it. The staff showed that he had my best interest in mind, and gave me the best options gor a fix. I will return here anytime I need a locksmith.

Had to have some locks re-keyed quickly. I called Heights and they were able to come the very next day. Jason called when he was on his way, arrived on time, and quickly and efficiently re-keyed the locks. He also made sure they were lubricated and that all the keys worked perfectly! Went in to have a key duplicated, an individual at the counter looked at the key for about 10 seconds said it wouldn't be an issue but they were updating the software and to give him 'a couple minutes'. A few minutes came and went and the store started to get busy. I get back and line and 30 minutes later another competent employee actually asks what type of vehicle the key is for, looks up in his computer and says they can't do it. Awful service from the original employee, you could've taken 2 minutes to do your job properly and saved me half an hour and a bad review for your employer.By and large their reviews are positive and i'm sure I just got an employee a few minutes from their lunch break or something but won't be going back either way.

They have the weird keys that you can't find anywhere at good prices. Here or bills is the only two places to go in town. Equally good on opposite sides of town.

I have been a many years long customer of Heights, but no more, I don't believe price gouging is the way to do business. $55 trip fee from a mile away and $100 labor for an issue that took 3 minutes and required no repairs. My in home veterinarian doesn't even charge $55 trip fee.

I just needed a backup key for my Prius. Other places quoted me for $80 - $200 because 'the car wont start without a chip'. The gentleman here at Heights Key Lock & Safe, ACTUALLY looked up the make and model, and cut a spare key for $5.50 !!! I am so happy I found this place and I will definitely be coming back when I have enough money for a full OEM remote lock
